Also, this.

That said, kudos @Playmer on the analysis. Took a look at it, and yeah, definitely different rooms, although I'm with NoMoreGaems/Zerda that this feels like it might just be a consequence of shooting on a low budget and might not be so pressing in terms of what will actually come to take place in the rest of the season.

Who says it couldn't be both (2:1 someone already said this)? Even major productions have rewritten around these kinds of things, sometimes making their films more memorable in the process.

Yes, manwhowillnolongerrespond, we're all hiding behind our computers... while doing nothing of substance to you.

I'm still curious about the crazy burst of speed he gets when he gets a ways into the room, but, that's probably a distortion glitch. Where the picture freezes, then struggles to catch up, causing people in it to appear to move faster for a second or two.

Eh, it's no loss. The lack of proper use of the English language was an eyesore, anyway.

I'm not really concerned about the teleportation anymore. Whether it was a fluke or not, it's been noticed and debated over enough. If it was intentional, awesome job! If not, it'll be interesting to see what they do to explain (proper wording?) it away.

Right now I mostly just wonder how long we'll have to wait to get a new entry.

If I had to guess, I'd say February, but I hope sooner.

You guys, you guys! I finally caught up! I was on page 12 but I'm finally here in the present! I can't tell you how enriching it was to skim 21 pages of bitching back and forth about whether Masky TP'd Jay or Troy and Joseph derped out on hotel rooms and decided that, shruggles, no big deal guiz.

And The Operator's rage-quit totally made my day. 8D There's no sarcasm in this second paragraph. The first, maybe a little, this... ahhhh, ha ha hahaha.

Anyways, nice find about the door warping/OOG fuckup, folks. In regards to whether or not it has any bearing on the future of the series, I imagine that it will be more subtle now than in, say, #24 where they were hitting us over the head: (An entire entry devoted to, "look, Jay opens the door on one side and it doesn't open on the other! EGADS! KEYBOARD MASHING!") It adds to the canon of doors going where they shouldn't. People being connected from one chunk of space to another without being able to get there on their own. (Hence the Operator being named after a job in which one connects one signal to another. Just in 3D and with fleshbags. Tin cans with sausages.)

I'm a little incoherent from all of the reading, apologies. I'd imagine that after we get the next deluge of tapes from Jay (there were a lot -- I didn't see much analysis of what was found. Any thoughts on how many tapes there were and how many hours of Operator-y action that could entail?) out in Entry form, things will start to get tied together. I get the feeling that we've come to the end of Season 2, Act 1 and are heading into Act 2, in any case. Patience, things will come together.

Hopes: More TTA; more Tim as Tim and not as a scary (and/or derpy) Masked Meddler. More Jessica; subverting the 'your princess is in another castle' trope by saving JAY'S backside from trouble at some point! Some answers about Alex, regardless of whether or not he's alive. Neutral I would really just like to get teasers about whether he got taken down for good or not!

From a cursory glance... 24? No, it looks more like 18. So about... Well, 18 hours... 27 on LP.. if these are mini-dv cassettes. 108 Hours on (probably) the average lowest quality VHS. So probably around... 3 minutes of Slenderman if any, unless Jay was recording over old tapes when nothing important gets recorded.

I feel ya. My eyes glazed over quite a few times reading some of the pages.

I feel ya Dray, I had been reading this thread every moment I had an was raging at the decision to just forget about it. This morning I decided to take the dicussion into my own hands and prove/debunk at least one facet of this thing. That being the doors.

Was there not also an external hard drive in the safe as well or did I misinterpret the entry? That could potentially have hundreds of hours of (probably) surveillance footage, could it not?

Yeah, but it's not like I could visually interpret that sort of thing. I don't know what kind of files were outputted to it, and I don't know the size of its storage.

Yeah, sorry about that. But thank you so so much for putting so much effort into proving that YES, there was a change. Even if we don't know if it was intentional or not, we DO know it happened.

Potentially. Also, does anyone know onto what media Jay records? I know for surveillance footage (at least during S1) he saved directly to a hard drive, but what about his handheld recordings? Disc or tape?

The reason I ask has to do with the actual OWNER of the tapes in the safe. We KNOW Alex used tapes, so it might be possible they belong to him and the hard drive belongs to Jay. If Jay uses tapes too, though... Well, nothing really XD Then they're his.

Someone mentioned this earlier, but in order for Jay to have watched all of Alex's tapes in season one, he would have needed a tape camera of his own to play them and upload them, right? So it's safe to assume Jay has one.

Not necessarily. All he'd need is a VCR and a capture card to take the footage from the tape and save it on his PC.

I was wondering if maybe they were Alex's, too. I think that if it was me, I'd have gone for those first just to make sure! Were the tapes labeled in any way? Jay seems (and perhaps this is just from his white-on-black bumpers on either side of footage) to be a little more conscious about keeping things in order than Alex seemed to be. That could help sway a guess in one direction or another!

I'm pretty sure J only specified that his chestcam records to HDD. His handheld could be either. My first thought was that the tapes were J's handheld and the EHD was his chestcam, though it could be just about anything obviously.

They do make specialized capture devices for DV tapes, but I've never seen someone actually use one. Camcorders that shoot onto DV tape are always cheaper than ones with other storage methods, and every film student I know (J is a film student in-story, right?) owns at least one.

I don't really care what'son the tapes b/c I believe Troy is going to provide some amazing footage and story for us. What I WANT is the rest of the car scene footage to see who was in the back of the car. Or some of Alex's backup camera footage to see if Jessica was the camerawoman.
