Hey guys, first time poster here, and I'm really sorry if this has been brought up already but I don't have an attention span to look through 40 pages of this. x.x Also, prepare for a wall of text.

The code to the safe was 1102, and was found on a piece of paper in Jessica's room. 1) I find it odd that this was in Jessica's room, and 2) The Operator symbol in the 0 definitely implies that J didn't write this (in his sane state, anyway). To me, this could only mean one of three things: Jessica wrote it, J wrote it in his memory loss phase, or Masky wrote it. There is nobody else who could have written it.

If Jessica wrote it, that means that she is having some very Masky-esque qualities appearing under the radar. It would reinforce the idea that Jessica is becoming a Masky herself when losing her memory, which would also mean that J would most likely be becoming a Masky as well because he and Jessica have the same symptoms (memory loss, etc.). However, on the opposite side, the 1102 note could also mean that Jessica is deliberately pretending to be a victim and just deceiving us all, but I really don't see why she would make it so obvious as to put an Operator symbol right in the middle of the code, so that is low on my list of plausible explanations.

Now if J wrote it, that would mean that there would be a definite supernatural influence on him, and it would explain the memory loss quite well. What does this imply, exactly? It could mean that J is simply influenced by the Operator or Masky and he wrote it more or less against his will, or it could mean that J is becoming one of them. Sounds pretty creepy.

On the other hand, if the 1102 note was Masky's doing, then that means he had access to J's safe and could have tampered with the tapes, or even placed some - or all - of them himself. Is it possible that we will find some of Masky's own tapes in the upcoming entries? And what would that mean for the upcoming plot? Now aside from Masky enjoying just being an annoying little bug, what would his reasoning be for altering/planting tapes? This definitely makes me question all of his motives, including the attacking of J; was he trying to harm him, or just get him out of the hotel quickly? I still don't know if Masky is truly a friend or foe.

Thanks if you read all of that, I know it was quite a chore. ^^ I would really like to hear some feedback.

Going through the transcript for this video and cleaning it up a bit, I came across some really interesting correlations between bits of audio and visual distortion (as well as a couple of mini-tears I don't remember having seen before! Maybe I should do this for every entry). Here are the relevant sections:

02:00: Jay passes through the still-open doorway between his and Jessica's rooms.
The audio distortion loses some volume.
02:01: As Jay runs, we see the maglite still in his hand. The camera pans over the hallway of Jessica's room, over a tall blue object that may be an ironing board and a paper-like white shape.
02:02: Jay's hand grabs the Jessica-side door between his room and hers. The masked man has risen from the bed and as he is coming towards Jay again, he slams the door shut.
The audio distortion makes a rattling noise as he closes the door.
02:03: Jay turns to the left and reaches for the door out of Jessica's room towards the hallway.
02:05: Jay opens the door to the hallway and exits.
The audio distortion sputters, and loses most of its volume.
02:07: As Jay turns to go down the hallway and the camera pans left , it appears to get 'stuck' for a moment, repeating a particular two frames six times over, of the doorjamb across the way, the hallway carpet and wall. As this happens, the distortion sputters again, and when the frame resolves, the audio distortion is almost completely gone.

Some of this is strange, especially the jumpy "stuck" frames near the end correlating with the drastic quieting of the audio distortion, and the "sputtering" that occurs as he passes out of the door from Jessica's room into the hallway. They could be indicators of warp doors, or they could be simple distance from the cause of the distortions (in this case, probably Tim, since we have no other evidence of the Operator's presence), but honestly, they're so ambiguous I'm not sure what to make of the way the audio behaves, except to suggest that it might be relevant. Thoughts?

hi, new here i'm getting caught up on marble hornets as I have been meaning to watch it for ages and never got around to it. anyways...

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but on the wikidot page that perhaps the safes reset to the room number when someone checks out. I work in a hotel with similar safes and this is not the case. the fact that Jessica's safe was locked suggests she or someone else put something in there because they are reset every time they are opened, this is so when someone new checks in if they want to use the safe they lock it with their own code, and it must be re-locked in the same manner every time its opened.

they also have a master key in case someone leaves it locked when they check out.

I don't know if this information is significant at all, since i'm still about 10 entries behind, but maybe jay will be lead back to the hotel and find something in that safe?

I think Jessica's safe is important, but I think the whole code thing just needs a bit of suspension of disbelief.
