Hey, that's just Shaun's theory, it isn't necessarily the real deal.

I know I was pitching the whole "projection of Michael's sickness" thing before this video came out but I actually think differently now. Reading between the lines of what Shaun's saying, I think Michael has been stalked by Slendy for a good while now, and that's what caused him to have a breakdown and go into the mental hospital in the first place.

Before he went into hospital, Michael tried to tell Shaun and others about what was happening to him, and maybe some of them started to believe him, but when he was hospitalised they forgot all about it - any incidents which seemed odd or out of the ordinary they wrote off as Michael acting up in order to reinforce his own delusions. It's possible that Michael is somehow more sensitive than usual to Slendystuff - perhaps because of genuine mental health issues, perhaps not - so the phenomena didn't necessarily have to be quite so severe for him to realise that something was up.

My theory is that before Michael went into the hospital, he did manage to convince some people that there really was something going on, and they got scared. Real scared. Perhaps that's why Shaun and his douchebag buddy posted that "truth" video and seemed so concerned about Michael sharing his ideas with people - they knew Michael could be very convincing when talking about Slendy and didn't want anyone else to get scared as bad as they were, when in fact what they don't know is that they had good reason to be scared!

It's even possible that some of the people that Michael convinced of the reality of Slender Man have started behaving oddly, or have had bad things happen to them - disappearances, "accidents", things like that - and what we as Slendy fans might recognise as old thin and sticklike coming after Michael's buddies was interpreted by Shaun and the douche as people getting way too deep into Michael's bullshit and getting themselves hurt. That'd really go a long way to explaining a) why they think it was even remotely OK to go behind his back to get a warning out to people, and b) why Shaun's pal even considered that Shaun might have been kidnapped by Michael. We know that Michael's like the Jay of this series, but to Shaun and buddy it's like he's a few steps short of being like Charles Manson - a dangerously ill person who's just charismatic enough to pull people into his world of and help them become as sick as he is.

I really believe that when Shaun talks about Michael infecting people with his delusions in this video, he's just flailing around to find some way to explain what's going on that doesn't involve admitting that he was wrong and Michael really has been seeing Slendy since he was released, and Michael really did see Slendy before he was hospitalised, and hospitalising him was a terrible and completely unnecessary thing to do.

Also, it would be nice that it had a message about how bad mental institutions really are mixed with the story. Sort of a message to the little ones, don't you think?

The thing that caught me was that Shaun used "virus". does anyone remember if he [Shaun] had actually watched the previous videos before truth? Virus was before Truth. I know that much. I don't exactly remember if Shaun said that he had watched the videos.

I think Shaun knows it's real. We know he's dreaming about the "grandfather clock" as well. But if someone sees/hears something that legitimately scares them, they will have nightmares about it. The fact that it's the SAME dream is the weird part. Sooo.... I think Shaun is just looking for a way to justify his fear. I don't think he's run into Slenderman yet. At least not while he's awake...

I'm assuming they saw all the videos, they only mention the slender one.

If Shaun already had the feeling that his brother controlled people and passed his ideas on them, and then just saw the mention of the word virus, he'll add one and one and think that his brother is catching with what he sees as virus behavior and use that word.

Idk. i still think Shaun knows Slenderman is real and Michael isn't lying. Shaun knows something. He'll be a huge part of the plot later on [I hope].

The only thing that's really throwing me off at this point is that he said Michael lied to Eric. I assumed he meant that Michael lied about knowing where Shaun was or not, but I'm just taking a random guess...

I have just gotten started on this and so far I like it. My only issue is the daylight coming through the blanketed over windows when it is supposed to be nighttime.
