I was about to say this exact same thing.

Listening back, yeah, I'm positive he says "when WE were 8". I'm partially deaf, but headphones help and yeah. He could have misspoken and meant to say "you" though. It doesn't really matter, except to me I guess. I just like to have my details in order.

So the way Michael says "You asked for meds" makes me think that he actually drugged Shaun and holed him away in the basement. Um, that's not good. But neither is choking/beating the hell out of your brother.

And is Shaun's video filmed directly/very soon after this happened? It looks like it.

To be fair to Michael, when your brother lies to your parents and sends you off into a home where you've been drugged to the state of a zombie for 16 years... Shaun doesn't seem to show any remorse for making his brothers childhood a miserable time. It's clear they both were aware of slenderman when they were younger based on how Michael reminds him of running away from slenderman before Shaun broke his leg. Although that could be Mchael's own interpretation of the events.

I'm guessing that this happened at some point during Shaun's "disappearance" that Eric was so mad about.

Have we touched on how pissed Shaun's friend will be?

We might be seein a little bit more violence.

Does anyone else find it funny that Shaun told Michael to show us what he did expecting some loss of sympathy for him, but in fact it just makes us like Michael more?
EDIT: clarification.

Of the two, I definitely feel more sympathy for Michael, but I feel bad for Shaun, too. And it looked like Michael may have been hitting him pretty hard.

But it could be that Shaun thought Michael purposefully got him "infected" with Slenderman... and I can totally see where he would draw that conclusion from. Michael is acting suspicious about those meds he gave him, and he seems desperate to make Shaun agree with him. Slendy almost seems to be sympathizing with Michael, with the shoulder-pat/grab and then watching the fight. He may have even become a part of it. It almost feels to me like it could be something like "Michael's upset? Someone's going to pay."

Shaun's rambling about Michael's crazy being infectious like a virus is beginning to sound a lot shakier now in the light of this. It's denial turning into delusion; mental illness doesn't work that way, but Shaun is so determined not to acknowledge that previous Slenderhaunting incidents in his and Michael's childhood weren't real that he's now coming up with his own mad theories to try and escape that.

Presumably Michael showed Shaun the video after this happened and it showed Slendy's appearance, which freaked out Shaun bad enough that he stayed at Michael's for several days after the fight before he left.

Oh, I definitely agree that Shaun's allegations about Michael being crazy make almost no sense anymore. He's definitely in denial, but I still feel bad for him. He can't be doing it just to be an asshole; he's just really scared. That or he was mind-wiped by Slendy.

For as good as the acting in this series has been, Shaun's demeanor seemed.....off..to me. It felt like either the actor wasn't really getting into it, or that Shaun had NO confidence in what he was saying, and I'm definitely betting on the latter. My guess is that either he started to remember, or maybe had already begun to see things in the video.

Slendy seems to have a habit of showing up when Michael is in high stress situations. When he was crying, when he got in the fight with Shaun's friend, when he got in the fight with Shaun. He doesn't seem as upset in other videos with Slenderman, but he's on antipsychotics or at least has been for a long time so who knows what kinds of mood swings he has.

I definitely agree. Shaun wasn't all there (the drugs were partly to blame for that) and he seemed like he was forcing his answers, trying to get himself to believe them.

So I pretty much follow every single video series there is. Just saying.

In the latest video I thought Shaun's acting was actually pretty good. I got the impression when he "admitted" that he'd seen Slender Man he was actually bullshitting and he still didn't believe, but he was just saying what he thought Michael wanted to hear, and the subsequent events seemed to bear that out.

Besides the fact that they're fighting, How about them being stalked as kids. Thats an interesting concept, It would give Slendy motive to be back now.

Shaun probably thought that after exposing he was on anti-psychotics and in the hospital we probably wouldn't believe Michael or take him so seriously.

Honestly it doesn't make me like Michael more. He effectively kidnapped, drugged, and then wailed mercilessly on his brother when the latter was in no state to defend himself against assault. I feel like Unforum doesn't have much perspective when it comes to Michael, unfortunately -- just try and imagine how differently you would have responded if the roles had been reversed.

That being said, it does add another layer of vulnerability to Michael's character, which I like. He's obviously so desperate for his brother to acknowledge what's happening to them that he's willing to go to pretty nefarious lengths to get the other to listen... and the fact that their "conversation" degenerates to violence so quickly just shows the level of desperation.

I assumed he thought that we would find the footage of him getting Roofied/beaten objectionable, to say the least.
