I'm only just now noticing that he uses a different style of distortion than we are used to, but it still works in creating a great atmosphere. This vlog definitely seems more story based, not much room for player input, but maybe it's because it's just all planned so well.

Distortion occurs about halfway through the video. I went through frame by frame but I didn't notice Slendy anywhere. I thought maybe he was in the part where the contrast was turned really high, but I'm not sure.

I wonder how Michael knows Eric is inside his house when he tries to contact him there. It's really not looking too god for Eric; the odds are not in favor of the disappeared and lost set when it comes to Slendy. It's possible he just left town to be safe, but...

I didn't notice any Slendy either. I don't know whether I should read into him looking up (and up and up) somewhere to his right off-camera when the distortion halfway through occurs, but I thought I'd note it.

The Man takes him in his sleep? He says that that is when he loses control and his body is given over to His wishes, which adds more credibility to a possession scenario-- very reminiscent of classical beliefs about witchcraft. If that's true, I'm not understanding where Shaun fits into this. Not believing in possession doesn't mean you will stop being possessed. Maybe Shaun is wrongheaded, but maybe he knows way more about this than an observer would-- in either case, getting in touch with him would be ideal.

Too bad he's in hiding, eh.

I don't really think this is entirely true. When you believe in something, it gives that belief power over you.

Michael believes and gives Sm power over him. Shaun didn't believe (or should I say doesn't want to believe), even though he's seen Sm. But Shaun is now starting to believe again and this does not bode well

That makes Slendy something of a self-fulfilling prophecy-- the more you believe, the more he shows up, and so on. Maybe that's why he prefers to set his hooks into children, they believe more readily... I guess it's nothing we haven't seen before, but in the context of this story it makes sense.

His absence is isolating Michael, and the distortion in Shaun's latest videos implies he's under the 'fluence now. These are almost painful to watch, for what the characters are going through.

I find it EXTREMELY interesting that Shaun could not get in touch with Michael short of going up and physically leaving a tape/USB stick/whatever at his house - and even then, I think it's interesting that he did it whilst Michael was out. It could be that Shaun can't even get to the YouTube page; the distortion seems to have perfectly placed to make the specific nature of his failure to contact Shaun through YouTube undefined.

And if we can still talk to Michael, perhaps it's worth experimenting: does Michael only respond to messages which buy into the idea that Slendy is real, or does he also respond to messages which say Slender Man isn't real and urge him to forget about him? This, I think, might be a key point. Maybe we're only able to contact Mike if we're saying things Slendy wants Mike to hear? That'd be a wicked cool way to make the audience feel complicit in a series - by watching his videos and talking to him as if Slendy is real, we're making it worse.


I love this idea, especially PMing him. I know someone talked to him a while back, but I don't remember who.

I could shoot him a message though, if no one else does.


We had some communication with Michael for a bit but, it seemed to die off. Someone else is welcome to try just in case our original messages offended him.

I was nervously watching that rope through the whole video. Exactly the same reaction when he said that!

It does look like he looks at something off camera during the distortion like Bomrek said, but I'm not sure either.

 		I thought he looked like he was about to fall asleep when the distortion occurred; could it have been caused by Slendy's possible influence over sleeping Michael?

That or Slendy just drags him like a ragdoll to wherever like the bowling alley .

I also think he should start filming himself sleeping. Although it's not a new move by far in vlogs, I think it can get some interesting results.
