Perhaps the Operator isn't capable of inflicting physical harm himself but has the ability to act through others? But that doesn't exactly explain Alex's wound in the video where the Operator enters his room.

In addition to that I wonder if the Operator is capable of opening doors on his own... I'm not sure how else he would have gotten into Alex's house though, just a thought I had.

In #14, it looks to me like he's already in the house when Alex comes down with the camera to look around. That doesn't discount that he got in there in the first place, but it could be that while the camera's on him, he has to use conventional modes of travel? I dunno, on the other hand, Masky seemed to be just fine with 'porting into Jay's room in #19 with just a burst of effed up visual tearing and sound... so I don't know what either of their deal is when it comes to what they can and can't do with the rules of physics. (Aside from the general DM'd wry retort "everything and nothing", of course. XD)
