For some reason, ARGs with Wonderland themes seem to wind up snaring my attention every single time.

I may just have to look deeper into this rabbit hole as well. Smile

Yes, that is what she said.

*coughs*

Anyway, something notable about Sikhism is that it's a monotheistic religion. That'd be related to "1." On the other hand, wikipedia also mentioned something about the teachings of "ten gurus," so I'm not entirely sure what to think.

Also, some bloody wanker has gone and given Alice the wrong bloody time.

So we have:

Novenary = 9
Unity = 1
safira (afira?) = ?
Unity = 1
Sikh = ?

Could that just mean 09:11? I have no idea what safira is other than a derivative of sapphire, and Sikh seems out of place too. I'm not even sure its safira, it could be afira, as the s before the "afira" is visible and has a little squiggle under it.

safira (with the little dot beneath the 's' that I'm too lazy to bother formatting) is...Arabic, I believe?...for "to be empty." So it's most likely a 0

The only thing I can find on Sikh in the wiki is "The beginning of the first composition of Sikh scripture is the figure "1"—signifying the universality of God."

So 1 seems most likely to me unless someone else has a better idea.

This would make the time 9:10:11.

Eh... I saw this one guy commenting on myearsandwhiskers who thought that Sikh was five. Apparently there are five holy things in Sikhism or something... I dunno.

Anyway, how am I supposed to "tell Alice"? Do I email the awayfromwonderland guy or something?

You could comment on Alice's blog (see above spoiler) - but I don't think we should until we can come to some sort of agreement on the time. Then again we may already be "too late".

The "too late" thing is what Rabbit White seems to keep reiterating, based on the video and the content of that first email. That said, we may be all doomed to be 'too late' as far as helping Alice goes.

Either that, or, I'm honestly wondering if the "too late", or even "late" itself isn't a clue of some variety, due to the amount of repetition it seems to get.

I admit that I did send Rabbit White an email, because I am horribly curious. No response as of yet. I'll be sure to let you know if anything interesting comes of it.

Hey, everyone. I just signed up, and I'm new to ARGs, but this one seemed interesting.

I don't have any ideas on the "too late" thing, but I did look into the Sikh religion a bit for clues. Two numbers came up - 1 and 5.

Sikh have 5 "obstacles" (lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego) that have to be overcome so they can become one with God. They also have 5 virtues and 5 prayers for morning time...

But the connection of 1 for a monotheistic religion is probably pretty solid. And, looking closer at their prayers, between the times of 8 and 10 pm, they have "one prayer before sleeping". Since our time is "9:10", only one prayer would be in that time slot...and sleeping is used as a metaphor for death sometimes? Not sure if that applies.

Has anyone thought of AM and PM yet? In army time, it'd be AM...but there aren't any Sikh prayers between 6am and 5pm.

Hey Weylin this is my first time on forum too Smile

I think Sikh is 5, because Sikh's have to wear the 5 symbols at all time. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh#Five_Ks)
So if someone were looking (searching) for a symbol of 5, that would make sense to come up.

But someone posted a guess of time on http://myearsandwhiskers.wordpress.com/2011/01/25/32/#comments of 9 hours, 2 minutes, 15 seconds and no response from rabbit. So that's not it, could be 9:10:15 or we need to tell Alice instead.

Also - "late" = PM ?

OK I agree with Sikh = 5 also because already have Unity =1. So the numbers are 9:10:15 - WR says don't be late so I think the time is AM...

Whatever we do, I think we should probably rethink the approaches we've been taking in informing Alice. Check out her newest blog post. http://awayfromwonderland.wordpress.com/2011/01/26/pardon-me-a-moment/

On the topic of the meter counting down to Alice's unfortunate end, I went to tickerfactory.com and I found that their tickers usually start at one end and move to another. So this could put us roughly halfway through a process that started 4 months ago. Just a thought and a point for the already late theory.

It also, alarmingly, says we're late already. "You're terribly late, you know." I left a comment asking if we're already late, any response will get posted here.

It could be that we are already late and we need to turn back the meter in order to save Alice. But now I'm just wildly speculating.
Speaking of speculation I noticed some of the words in Whitey's post are in italics if they are gathered it says:

Me, playing games, if she showed up at the wrong time, your, late, tell

But really it doesn't make sense and no matter how hard I try it just won't start to I figure the italics are probably just for intonation.

There seems to be consensus that the time is 9:10:1? Where the ? is the number sikh (which would appear to be 5) but do the seconds really matter? As long as she isn't late all is well right? So if she shows up at 9:10:00 then she won't be late right?

There is a new post on Alice's blog Exclamation It's a suitably alarmed response to our comments. I left a comment saying that "yes, it's strange, but whatever it is we're on your side." Because I'm cool like that. I used the wrong your because I'm smooth like that.

EDIT: clearly I don't type fast enough. I'm new on this site and (sort of) to ARGs in general. Was any of what I did bad form?

Another thought, we should probably try to start working with those commenters with the slendy urls.

I think the seconds are important, too. The wording on Rabbit's post implies the wrong time, not lateness. So even if she showed up early, that would still technically be the wrong time. So we need to come to a consensus on the time and go with it. My vote goes for 9:10:15.

Seconded.

New Rabbit post. could mean that we're right about the time. Now it's looking for a location. I won't be able to do much until I get to my printer in a few hours.
