Re: Rocket Poppeteers Commercial
Just thinking

First of all, long time lurker. Don't think this was posited before.

I'm just thinking how cool would it be if JJ rolled out RP in stores over the next couple of weeks and blasted off (no pun intended) with a RP commercial at the Super Bowl. Maybe the next trailer is in March like he said, but at the Super Bowl this commercial airs?

Didn't stores like 7-11 get actual Slusho! drinks around the time of Cloverfield's release? If so, I imagine it wouldn't be too far fetched for Rocket Poppeteers pops to "pop" up in the Frozen Goods section at your local grocery store Very Happy

Trailer
Rocket Poppetters?

Does anyone think the Super Bowl Trailer is going to be Rocket Poppetter related? I mean the recent update makes me suspecious that its not going to be a real Super 8 Comercial but more of one supporting Rocket Poppeteers? I think thats more likely than a movie one and perfect for promoting the movie

Considering that a Super Bowl commercial spot costs hundreds of thousands of $$$ for 30 seconds, I would think they will feature the upcoming movie rather than some fictional ice pops that arent even on sale anywhere ... yet anyway...

But they could also use it to announce the Rocket Pops. Maybe they'll go on sale this weekend?

That would be amazing, and I'm not just saying that cause I love popsicles.

The time for Popsicles

With a better part of the nation frozen, freezing, or about to be, running an ad for a popsicle would have to be on the same order as selling freezers to Eskimos. (I know, someone will cite some reference work stating the major importance of Eskimos owning freezers, now.)

Anyway, you catch my (snow)drift. Who is going to want to think about some icy cold treat during this major snow storm?

Uhh All of us involved with the ARG Duhh! But seriously the majority of the country buys ice cream during the winter, movie pop-sickles at the local 7-11? They will fly off the shelves IF They include a SLUSHO for free.

Now if they throw in a Cap action figure and Command Fleet Ship, I'd go for that.

BTW, how many popsicle (that is what the Rocket Poppeteer is--Taste the Outer Space--Real Spacemen eat Rocket Poppeteers) commercials do you REALLY see during the frigid chills of winter?

Even more so, how many popsicle commercials have you ever seen during the Super Bowl? (Beer-sicles, maybe?)

Hell, how many Popsicle commercials do you see in general nowadays? I remember when I was a kid, they used to advertise the IRL Rocket Pops all the time, but now I NEVER see them. I guess Popsicle commercials are irrelevant to kids nowadays Sad

You might catch some in the summer on Nickelodeon or during Saturday morning toons.

It'd be nice if the Super Bowl ad could mix an action scene trailer for the movie for hype and then have some interuption in the last few seconds (like the Emergency Broadcast System) where Rocket Poppeteers Mission Control takes over the signal with some static and an important message for recruits. This would make us HAPPY and catch the curiosity of the uninformed.

Or have an animated Capt "Coop" Cooper say, "The following preview is rated A-O-K with Rocket Poppeteers brand popsciles." He swings a popsicle as a sword to our right, and the next S8 trailer begins. Idea
