fergus falls state hospital

I find ironic that this building is scheduled for demolition in July of this year. Isn't that when the movie is supposed to open?

I also emailed the curator to see if he knows anything about this game and if he has nay clues. What the heck? I'll post if he answers me. Embarassed

I checked the geocaching site right away. There is a geocache on the grounds, but it was placed in 2009. The numbers on the map are close to, but not exactly, the decimal minutes of the latitude and longitude.

i assume theyed leave it off a site like geocashing.com tp prevent geocashers finding the clue IF THERE IS ONE hopefully

No - I don't think the geocaching site has anything to do with the ARG. I'm just saying it is common in the Fergus Falls area and has included containers left on the FFSH grounds - so the it wouldn't be unheard of for there to be an ARG clue left there as well.

hmm this map kind of looks like the route in the trailer where the car gets on the train tracks and rams it

I was just thinking that exact same thing. I'm now scouring googlemaps and trying to see if I can find a similar looking intersection or piece of land like in the trailer. (unlikely, I know)...

Also, there is an airport (Einar Mickelson Field) in Fergus Falls, right near some train tracks. Any chance something could have been flown there and transferred onto a train for the rest of it's trip? Someone could have known about the transporting of said item and decided to prevent it from making it to its destination. Maybe that person broke out of the Fergus Falls Hospital. Maybe that person was placed there against their will to shut them up. And that person left a clue behind before sacrificing their life to prevent the transport of this dangerous item. Ok, now I'm just babbling. Laughing

@Jane
The black marker line divides US and Canada. The right half is the shore line

Ok, I know I'm going way out on a limb here... but I've re-watched the first few seconds of the trailer where it shows the train traveling from a distance. I've also looked at the satellite images from google maps of the area around FFSH... It looks like the area...or maybe my brain just wants it to. But anyway, there is an intersection near the hospital and the train tracks that could very well be the intersection where the truck gets onto the tracks. (right by the intersection of W Fir Ave and N Tower Rd). If you watch the trailer, the truck would be coming off of W. Fir Ave and onto N. Tower Rd, towards the tracks.

Also, from the very first shot in the trailer, the slightly more lit set of buildings to the distance on the right are in the same spot that FFSH is in proximity to this intersection and train line.

Can someone else look and tell me if I'm grasping at straws? lol

One more hint to Harry and another great people, who want go there. Actually, if there is something planned for an ARG, there must be 1) PM observers [like Rocket Mountaineer said] and 2) the staff (at least reception) should be informed by PMs about people who will visit perhaps next days this location with strange interests.

PMs are interesting on us finding their clues and they should make it easier, if something will go wrong. (I recall on my first ARG live event, as I was in hotel and reception was involved; I know, I sucked, because I waited and waited till something happens, so reception gave me a hint like "it's OK, don't worry, we are informed"). This atmosphere of "informness" will help.

In another words, if there are reception and they have no clue (or there is nobody/ or no strange looking observer), in this case I advice to be cautious about the correctness of our location.

But don't let you irritate by this my explanation, we will follow you, and you will be our hero Smile
If you have possibility to tweet from the location tour, it would be awesome.

I personally think, this location is correct, and we should check out that spiral stairs: perhaps some sheets of papers, notes on the wall or something other?

So, what have we decided to do? Email Josh about the location of the "3rd", or get an ARG'er based near that location to go there?

Godspeed Travelers

Given I live in Florida I simply cannot drop all and jet across the country, although I would absolutely LOVE to do so. Those of you who are brave and are going to take this task please do document as much as possible. Let us know where you find clues, if any. Take video of the scenes. There may be clues within the clues that at the time may not be as obvious at the time. Please be careful and be our eyes and ears. Good luck. Very Happy

In the movie the train crash happened near the town of Lillian, OH. I know we're asked to suspend disbelief at times, but probably not enough to think some kids in OH out having fun with their Super 8 camera would be able to capture anything going on in Minnesota on their film. So FFSH is probably not near the train crash.

It would take me almost 2 days driving time back and forth to get there. That's a no-can-do at this time for me. If it were half the distance, I probably would've been there.

Sometimes whatever is left as a clue is meant for the person to take and keep. If there is anything, I guess you can tell when you get there what to do with it -- just let us know what it is!!!

So does the 3rd refer to the 3rd floor? (Interesting that it's the one with all the curtains).

Good Job on this you guys, I was away from the internet for most of the weekend, sad I missed out on this finding!

Do we need to find D12

Host: do you still have the book?
Guest1: yeah
Host: upload the rest to me using the D12 entry.
Host: I need that coding system.
Guest1: am I in danger? Is my dad?
Host: I don't know
Host: I'm going to post something else I have been working on, something I'm getting shortly from this code.
Host: See if it means anything to you.
Host: We need to find what your father kept in the cylinder. If we find it, we find him.

After re-reading this, I'm wondering if Josh already uploaded the comic and Host used it to complete the red drawn in parts on the map and then posted it the next day in the photos folder, which is where we come in to see the map and find the "whatever" that's located at X-marks-the-spot. Apparently Josh already knows what the D12 entry is since he didn't ask about it. Maybe we don't even need to figure out what the D12 entry is.

STIES is the hub of the ARG, where we found connections that led to the other in-game sites. So whoever is running STIES is running us. We're back to who is mysterio. What's his motivation? Did he really work with Josh's dad? Is he a good guy, bad guy, government agent, maybe an alien trying to find that alternative energy source to get back home?

I hope someone finds an answer at the FFHS. If one of us doesn't make it there, I wonder if Josh will.
