So maybe we are looking at the clue the wrong way. I was just reading history on the FFSH and the article said that it was the 3rd State Hospital. Maybe the little picture in the right hand corner was just to confirm that it was the FFSH and the "3rd" is an indication that it is the 3rd building, ok so here's the long stretch. I think the next clue(s) might have to do with the other 2 state hospital buildings.

Me: Hello, this is Major Minor of the Rocket Poppeteers Sonic Strength Fleet. We're conducting a missing persons investigation and have evidence that the case may involve Fergus Falls State Hospital.
Him: The Rocky what? Who is this?
Me: Listen fella – we think you may be harboring a trogl in a tunnel there – don't play stupid with me.
Him: A frog in a tunnel? What…hey am I being punked? Did Marvin put you up to this?
Me: Marvin huh? Does this Marvin have a PDP-11 simulator?
Him: What the hell is a pidipiyaleven simulator?
Me: OK, fess up buster – are you one of them kladrogs? What have you done with the biospeleologist?
Him: bzz…bzz…bzz…bzz

Too bad... I was looking forward to the tour.

A biospeleologist might have been interested in the Sudan Iron mine located in Northern Minnesota. It is located southeast of the H in FFSH, about 20 miles east of Virginia. The mine closed in the 60's but was donated to Minnesota for educational purposes. For example, there is a neutrino lab located there. I know of a couple students who have studied extremophiles in the mine, so perhaps that is why A. Minker was in Minnesota. Does not explain FFSH though....

Thanks Rocket for making the phone call, I would have made an ass of myself for sure!

So I tried to clean the map up as best as I could. What came out is good, the numbers are definitely .89 & 12 68.

Not to sound like a jerk but what exactly did you tell them you wanted to go in for? Like did you say 'I'm following this movie called Super 8, you may have heard about it, and I was wondering if you happened to know any thing about the popsicle Rocket Poppteers?' I mean what did you ask?

I can still buy myself a beer though, right? Maybe a Lowenbrau to go with the Stroopwafel. Smile

Glad people had some fun with it!

(Harry - the historical society director said that July and August were probably the best times to visit. Maybe you can check out the mine during some nicer weather. I don't know though - don't you miss the adventure it might have been?)

Rocket, I do miss the would be adventure... I imagined myself struggling to remove a copy of Moby Dick from the underside of a step as tormented ghosts of the insane tried to devour my soul...

Map

I used geographic latitude and longitude and added the numbers in the field N 46° and W 96°, which is in the map and covers Fargo and the areas we need. The Result was

N 46° 11.89 W 96°12.68

…It's quite near to Fergus Falls, about 8miles.
There are some Lakes there.

Doesn't matter so much but the red T shape on the map is actually a + shape, just the top line is fainter than the rest.

I'm flummoxed by this, not very good with coordinate systems.

scariestthingieversaw website

I hint the print documents button again from the scariest thing i ever saw website and at the top of the page it says "same protocol 5D & 5O last leg. Are you OK? Please contact me when you get this." I did the calender thing from the last chat the 27 of January and got either Feb 26 or March 8th depending on which 5 over you go.

I find it very hard to believe that the numbers are not coordinates.

If you put the numbers in the grid on the map...(and if you take a look in Google Earth, you'll find out that the field seems to be North 46° and West 96°). If you combine the numbers with the grid numbers (the superior ones) then you get a location just 8miles from Fergus Falls where the Hospital with the stairs is. In an area reaching from Frago deep into Minnesota this dosn't look like a coincidence.

Just put N46° 11.89 W 96°12.68 into Google Maps and take a look, its

12977-13499 160th St
Fergus Falls, MN 56537
