Re: ingredients

I've read all the threads over the last few months and get the Cloverfield tie. So I get the Kaitei No Mitsu tie in. What about the other crazy ingredients? Have they been used before? Sentient Flan, Alpha Oxidem Starscape Acid, Geminitrate, Velocitation Extract, Blue Eclipse? They sound like word salad of some sort or confabulation. Are they new, or old words?

I put this up earlier in the thread:

GeminiTrate-Gemni Traits- Gemni Twins- Twin Teamwork Fleet

Velocitation -Velocity-When you speed up unconciously from driving for long periods- Super SpeedFlier Fleet

Blue eclipse is also known as a martian eclipse when two moons overlay themselves.

Alpha Oxide- Well there are many compounds of this so not sure which they are speaking of.

Efiia is Greek for "intelligence"- Brain Blast Fleet

And as for Sentient flan, the only thing I seem to remember is monty python.. but I think it was pudding..not sure on this..

I thought kaitei no mitsu was supposed to increase strength = Sonic Strength Fleet

Also Alpha Oxide as in the alpha is the individual in the community with the highest rank. Alpha male, top dog, the big cheese, Capt. "Coop" Cooper himself.

Oh yes, it would be awesome, if after SuperBowl action (for everybody i.e. uninvolved people) we would also get our satisfaction with opening of PR.

On RP in the new freezer section, were Iceland and Greenland previously white? I don't remember noticing this before. I'm on a different computer - so maybe it has something to do with monitor settings. Does anyone else remember. I did mention a few posts back that if the numbers on the FFSH map are 71.89 and 12.68 these are GPS coordinates located somewhere between the Greenland Sea and the Norwegian Sea. It might just be a coincidence. Maybe I'm seeing something that's not there - it wouldn't be the first time.

EDIT: Here are a couple of interesting links re: Greenland.

The Thule Air Base in Greenland and 21st Space Wing whose Vision is "America's Space Superiority Wing-Globally Postured to Win"
www.peterson.af.mil/units/821stairbase/index.asp

Greenland was pretty important to US during Cold War. There is an article from the Daily Mail Online about Thule Air Base. Down near the bottom it talks about a secret city beneath the ice. Here's an excerpt: Camp Century was a bizarre, secret city beneath the ice. The site, 150 miles into the ice cap from Thule air base, was selected 50 years ago by the US Army Polar Research and Development Center.
It had the world's largest walk-in freezer to store food, a chapel, a barber's shop and a theatre, as well as dormitories and laboratories. The major connecting tunnel was known as 'Main Street'. To power this secret world, the US even built and then shipped in a small nuclear reactor.

Definitely NOT in-game - just crazy obsessed! Did you read that whole article? There are so many subtle connections, it makes me wonder.

freezer, explorer on another planet, Cold War, feel like an episode of the X Files, antiquated bulky white computers, underground city with tunnels and laboratories, etc.

Even the map has similarities.

Oh yeah and this part 'They were a little concerned people would go cuckoo,' remembers Bob Weiss, who served in Camp Century as a young doctor in 1962 and 1963. 'I'm not sure we knew exactly what it was for.' Maybe TROGL went crazy in Greenland and ended up at FFSH.

But the story seems to be out of game. I don't know - there sure are a lot of similarities. Maybe it can lead us to an in-game link. It's a cool story anyway.

EDIT: and the author's name is Gordon.

I checked the link at:

I like the photo named "The control room at Thule radar base" with the old big white computer on one side of his desk and a new laptop and flat screen on the other! lol

Hehe, very Dharma-initiative-esque Very Happy

Btw... If I were the Air-Base-man, I'd choose another name for this Air Base... Unfortunately "Thule" got some not really nice connotations after 1930-40ies...

Last link poster by Rocket Mountaineer

I'm almost sure I'm not the only one, but I just have to say that in this link:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1168510/The-spies-world--new-Cold-War.html

provided by Rocket Mountaineer, the "graphic illustration" halfway down the page or so, the one with the red banner saying ''The Enemy Missile is Launched - And Thule Kicks Into Action...", totally totally totally reminds me of some stuff from the Rocket Poppeteers website in terms of aesthetics, color choices, and execution of the design.

Just had to say that.

For the last two days Rocketpoppeteers.com isn't loading for me. Is this happening for others?
