Well don't take any of this as set in stone yet, we're just messing about with concepts right now, but the core idea is this - you play a journalist/film student/person who films stuff for money. You get hired by a mysterious group to help them prove the existence of paranormal and supernatural entities. You do this by going to different locations, seeking out the creature and filming it firsthand. We plan to have appearances by favourites like the Dover Demon and Mothman, more obscure creatures like Slendy and The Rake, as well as some of our own creations.

You get no weapons, no HUD, no crosshairs. Only a torch, a camera and a phone.

As I said, nothing is set in stone yet, but it'll likely run off the HPLC engine (same engine that runs Amnesia: The Dark Descent) and the core idea will probably not change too much.

That... that would be frickin' amazing. IT'S AN SCP FOUNDATION GAME. Shocked

Edit: Seems the person above me thought the same thing.

I can honestly say that this sounds really freaking cool. If you need help with it, I'm pretty sure that tons of people here would help with it. Is i beyond just the planning phase in any way? Or is it just something that'd be cool to do?

Well like I said, an associate of mine has already started modelling for it, I've been writing up scripts and story structure for a while and the HPLC engine has an SDK (Software Deveopment kit) that they recently released. we'll be using that. In addition, I downloaded both 3D Max and Mudbox today (free three year licence for being a uni student) so I'll probably do some moddeling and animating for it too.

Only thing we need is someone who knows how to code. We can search around, but if anyone here knows anything about coding then send me a message.

Oh, also; the game would actually be classed as a mod, seeing as it runs off the HPCL engine. So that means anyone who owns Amnesia: The Dark Descent would be able to download and play Shutterspeed for free.

Very early in production so far, but I plan to see it through and use it towards my uni studies.

I....know absolutely nothing about code.

You could try looking around on some modding forums

Thatswhat we'd planned to do, certainly. Although we've worked on other projects, and coders are nothing if damn hard to come by.

If you don't have a composer yet, I'd like to volunteer my services. I've already written a couple of pieces inspired by Marble Hornets, that could just as easily be anything creepy.

WHOA WHOA WHOA. You guys are actually doing this? It's not just a concept?

Is awesome overdose a valid cause of death, or will my coroner just assume it's a heart attack?

Go to Facepunch.com, register, and make a thread in the General Games Discussion. Just give all of the info there, and you might find somebody useful. Just make sure you mention that you're working on scripts and the like; they don't exactly take well to "ideas guys".

Shoot. Of course that's like the only game that steadfastly refuses to work on my computer.

okay, I finally got around to fixing my computer, and DDR is in alpha stage. I'll write up a design document, and start messing around in unity today(well probably late tonight).

If you're working on a script I'd be glad to help. I'm not a professional or anything, but I'm not bad.

A Marble Hornets game would be the best thing ever. Especially if you threw in audio/visual distortion when Slendy is around and all that. If it does happen, and is anything like Amnesia I'm sure I'll never sleep again.

Make sure that you get permission from copyright holders before adding their characters, if need be!
