My personal favourite, however, has got to be the Oct. 1 Journal - now I can jot down my late night thoughts and have that picture permanently haunting my nightmares... ahhh...

Since no one's put the name to vote, I thought I'd put in mine.

NO on Emphraxis Core.

I think the name reflects little of what this group is doing.
At least "cloudmakers" came from their game...

Plenty of other ideas were presented here on the forum originally (in the first 2 pages, before most people dropped off). I'd go with any of those before Emphraxis Core.

Nothing personal, just don't care for it.

 		This topic was supposed to be for name suggestions only.. people started working on logos and branching out into other ideas..

To tell you the truth, I didn't like most of the suggestions.. In fact, I hated a lot of them! But seeing that nobody was objecting or really voicing their opinion, free speech rights let this thread go on.

I don't care what the name is, just please make sure it doesn't sound like a bunch of kids who are trying to be 1337 on the net! I have to go back to the cloudmakers example again.. why can't we agree on something as good as that!

So now I will collect whatever names are in this thread, and run a poll very soon. If there are any names you strongly feel should be included in the poll other than the obvious ones in this thread please PM me.

Actually, I don't care. I'm not so cool with the Emphysema Core. I'm extremely neutral to all the other suggestions--none of them seem quite right. Generally, if a name is going to happen, it will be more of an "organic" thing--the meme will catch on and people will find themselves using it. We kind of have that with "Metagamers," but it does not quite seem right for an official title or website. Personally, none of these suggestions seem to stick for me, but if it will shut people up, I'm glad to just pick something and stick with it and move on to puzzle solving and spec (and Photoshop/iMovie hyjinx).

 		Although I thought many of the names were funny or creative, I couldn't pick one that I felt like being called.. the emphraxis one was the top runner, but still didn't have quite the right feel.. :-/

Wasn't something like whompers, or whomp hunters, or treedolpins suggested? I thought they were, but I didn't want to reread 15 pages..

I also think that Oct1st or a name related to that Oct1st picture will be a good idea. Smile
