No not yet on the dog front ... The pictures arent that clear to start off with and you can make out its 4yrs old .. Black and white .. and the name DAVE .. could be the dogs or owners .. there is another word like Labyrinth or something like that ..

So, the items in the suitcase picture are all things you take on a road trip, or maybe a train trip. The trailer has the scene which looks like a train station stop blowing up... maybe it's a scene from the station before it blows up.

Good point, I thought it was just random objects but I see a man sitting down holding a black and white object now. His knee is above the viewfinder. Sorry if this was obvious or already pointed out

Yeah, that's right. For me, he is sitting and holdig a keyboard or something flat (perhaps some documents?). And is the dark roundish object in the right part of screen actually the cylinder which was mentioned by Josh?

I don't think we can see THE cylinder, there's the green camping jug thing and behind it maybe a black suitcase with silver & red lines.

Weren't Quasimodo and Moby Dick both unjustly hunted down and thought to be evil monsters based on their looks?

Maybe a clue to the premise of the film?

Moby Dick (the white whale) was not supposed to be precisely of a sentient, premeditated malicious intent, but was a killer. All who hunted it felt its wrath, and it had become legendary for attacking the hunting ships - surely after having been pursued and attacked by so many of them.

A big white skinned beast, becoming violent and killing on instinct. Sound familiar?

Quasimodo was deformed physically, and thus had an outwardly unappealing appearance. By appearance alone people feared and reviled him as evil. Most portrayals only suggest violence as accidental or a purely defensive response.

So our creature in Super 8 is not so much a monster as poorly understood and persecuted being trying to survive. Sounds about right.

Isn't that suitcase the same type we saw in Josh's pics?

Perhaps the lab workers and others have to go to Ohio as well, and this is a scene with those workers and their families packed up and ready to travel to Ohio. Perhaps A. Of course this could be footage from the super 8 camera, so that wouldn't make sense then. Just speculating.
