I have to say, ho-lee-shit. While it could certainly be argued that it's a coincidence, I would strongly disagree. It looks almost exactly like it, in my opinion, and if it is it, then that could have some strong implications. Specifically, why would he go back to his hometown after leaving it because of everything?

I don't remember there being any homes or buildings near the tower.

Also: anyone wondering where that other path leads?

EDIT: not too rural, as the path is solid concrete, more akin to a sidewalk as opposed to a dirt path.

EDIT (AGAIN) I'm very pleased that they didn't ruin continuity by having him in a long sleeved jacket or coat. (it's summer time, remember?) even though it was probably near freezing when they shot this

TITS: (things i think significant)

"It's 3:56." four minutes until four o'clock. Y'all know my predilection for tetraphobic theories. Also, on the tape he'd received three days prior, "Amy's" recording began at exactly 3:57. Coincidence? ...okay, probably.

This makes two (2) anonymous tip-offs to abandoned (or at least dilapidated) houses. Speaking of which, what prevented him from "thoroughly searching" that day, as opposed to a later date? It was broad daylight,he wasn't devolving into coughing fits, and he'd apparently driven quite the long distance just to see the place... I'd spend more than three minutes on the inside, even if I'd planned on going back. Not to mention the total lack of anything threatening... except, of course, for the Board Of Doom, which let's be frank, either (a) was pushed by a strong draft (in which case it was recently put there and is therefore suspect) or (b) was pushed by someone or something. I can't see it as benign either way.

The rain. (shades of "Impurity?")

If it was a traumatic event which had caused J's amnesia, it must have happened (in my unprofessional opinion) very shortly after this tape, perhaps even before he got to the car. This was only THREE DAYS after his last memory, so it's gotta be close.

The rain.

There are such a thing as poor people, you know?

Ha, point taken. Laughing I dunno, I'm just not thinking house on this one. I could very well be wrong.

And now I'm going to drive myself mad trying to figure out what the heck is spray-painted on the walls . . .

Nice setup going on here. I remember in the Marble Hornets Radio Interview, Troy and Joseph said they wanted to make Jay more of a human character. I think they've achieved that this season rather well, and most recently with this one. "Why am I still talking" xD

I'm willing to bet that the shack will be a key player in the next few entries.

I think I know what the building is, it's basically a guest room, seperated from the main house but still close enough for them to comunicate. This explains where the sidewalk leads on the other path.

I think the trail will lead to the area in #29. Also, TTA, this would be the perfect opportunity to post a response. Please?

Hey look, there's my skin. High skin! Sorry I jumped out of you.....

I have a feeling that's one of Masky's bases we just saw.

Edit: Also, it looked like a field house to me.

Things I noticed the second time through:

The thing that fell over was propped against the wall just under the window. Though a strong gust of wind might have made it fall over, my money is on that it was pushed.

The bookcase/shelving looks burnt at first glance, though now I believe it is some kind of mold growing on/behind it.

There also looks like there is a pile of burnt stuff in the center of the room. I couldn't get a close look at it though.

Am I the only one who's really bugged by the fact that every video thread nowadays -- and 50% of the random threads that pop up -- are turning into a "well I don't like what they're doing with the story because of X" vs. "well I think they're doing just fine because of Y" parties? Guys, this is stuff we've gone on and on about in other threads. If you didn't like the entry, or don't like the way the story's going, or conversely if you feel the need to defend the entry/series/season, try not to dwell on it, or at least dwell on it in a General or Off-Topic thread. Or maybe a new thread should be made for Story Discussion. These [video] threads really are supposed to be discussions of the content of the videos.

In the interests of just that, I did a scrub-through of this entry and tried to note, well, notable things. Following: A lot of screenshots of graffiti.

"All of the tapes seem to be roughly ordered, but a few are unlabeled" -- this implies the majority WERE labeled, in one form or another! That's good to know. I suspect that Jay learned his lesson in his long slog through Alex's ridiculous, unlabeled collection.

The date and time he gives are Wednesday, April 21st 2010, at 3:56pm -- as he says, a couple of days after receiving the package in #26. #26 was posted on April 19th, just to refresh memories!

There's no "probably" about this not being the same house that Alex and his beau were in. That house had a second floor. This one doesn't.

2:05 -- honestly thought the plastic bag over the far right window was a bag-full-o-corpse first time I watched through this. :I

The layout of the house doesn't scream "home" to me, even in the sense of a home of a poorer person or family. Something about the radiator along the bottom of the floor is very much like my old high school's, and if this were a (small) house, I would think there'd be more indication of at least hookups for a cooking area, or a bathroom -- though maybe not the latter, if this is outhouse country. Community center, maybe. Old storage area, doubtful but maybe. Guest house? Maybe, but most families wealthy enough to have a guest house would have a guest house with its own kitchen and bathroom. Considering the shelving is still there along the right side of the main room, I don't think the house is SO old or broken-down that we wouldn't see at least some indication of other homey furniture if someone had been living there.

Inspection of the frames involving the side-room don't seem to reveal any bathroom-like or kitchen-like features, either. Curiouser and curioser. It also appeared to have a door to the outside -- if this was a community center, I'd say that was some sort of boot room. (and ugh, the three white boards on the floor made me think 'AUGH CORPSE' at first glance. Mad )

The "red tower THE SEQUEL" sighting is interesting, but when I look at it I see a building attached off the right side of it, mostly obscured by trees, and another additional structure/structures behind it to the left. I will be surprised -- pleasantly -- if they've managed some sort of continuity with tall red relevant buildings!

Out of curiosity -- for anyone with experience with fire-damaged buildings -- does any of this seem like fire damage to you? The shelves could be metal, I can't tell, and I have very limited experience with fire damage.

Attached are a bunch of screenies of graffiti. I personally couldn't spot anything of immediate relevance, but I thought I'd toss them out to y'all. The most interesting thing appears to be the graffiti that says either "there" or "here" on the outside wall, though if it's relevant, it's oblique at best.

I didn't think it would be courteous to gum up Unfiction's servers with ten big pngs, so here they are in link form on my own webspace:

I'm hoping for a better look at the darker room should he return, If there is anything to find, its probably there.

It would be interesting to see if Jay looks into that, for all we know that stuff could have writing on it like what Alex was doing, maybe someone was using that house for protection.

I don't know about the labels Jk. They could EASILY be fake. Heck, the only real, important tapes, could be the unlabeled ones. If I were J, I would skim the whole collection, find the ones with distortions, and watch those first. Then work out from there.

Heck, the unlabeled tapes could be TTA tapes for all we know.

Interesting, the windows are wired, but built into the glass.

The building looked like an old tourist information center to me, the sort you'd see in a park or outside a hiking spot. Bookcases on one wall for literature, an open room for selling souvenirs or displaying things related to the area. And then a back room, with a door leading to the outside. It looked like it had been burnt-out to me, or perhaps flooded. I'm leaning more toward fire, not because of how it looks, but because it would fit in better with the story. Also, it reminded me of the school house the Powerpuff girls went to.

I want to know what was around the building.

That sounds like a perfect fit.

This place looks like a house down the road from my school where all the potheads used to hang out. It recently got condemned.
