The building looked like an old tourist information center to me, the sort you'd see in a park or outside a hiking spot. Bookcases on one wall for literature, an open room for selling souvenirs or displaying things related to the area. And then a back room, with a door leading to the outside. It looked like it had been burnt-out to me, or perhaps flooded. I'm leaning more toward fire, not because of how it looks, but because it would fit in better with the story. Also, it reminded me of the school house the Powerpuff girls went to.

I want to know what was around the building.

That sounds like a perfect fit.

Yes, it was definitely the old school the Powerpuff girls went to, then. For sure.

Hey all, recent lurker, first time poster. I just wanted to let everyone know something interesting, perhaps insignificant, however.

After J gives us his intro and cuts the video, when we open to him walking, he's actually walking away from the house. He then does a 180 degree turn, and gives us our first establishing shot. I'll post some frame-by-frames trying to illustrate this. however, if you download the video and frame through it, it's pretty obvious.

Like I said it may mean nothing, but it's definitely intriguing...

Maybe he got out and just started going in, then realized he needed to show us where he was and just turned the camera on when he was walking back to get a better shot. I don't know. Just thought it might be noteworthy.

that is odd....I didn't think anything of it at first, but it may explain why he just went through everything real quick instead of studying anything....huhm

Yeah you're right. It's so obvious, but I missed it. I wonder why he does that?

While that's an interesting find, I think perhaps he just cut out him panning around, showing us the area. Likely lazy editing as they had run out of stock footage.

Heck, this was the first time we really heard J talk.

Edit: When did I hit decorated.

Another burned out building to add to the theme of fires in MH.

Am I the only one who's really bugged by the fact that every video thread nowadays -- and 50% of the random threads that pop up -- are turning into a "well I don't like what they're doing with the story because of X" vs. "well I think they're doing just fine because of Y" parties? Guys, this is stuff we've gone on and on about in other threads. If you didn't like the entry, or don't like the way the story's going, or conversely if you feel the need to defend the entry/series/season, try not to dwell on it, or at least dwell on it in a General or Off-Topic thread. Or maybe a new thread should be made for Story Discussion. These [video] threads really are supposed to be discussions of the content of the videos.

In the interests of just that, I did a scrub-through of this entry and tried to note, well, notable things. Following: A lot of screenshots of graffiti.

"All of the tapes seem to be roughly ordered, but a few are unlabeled" -- this implies the majority WERE labeled, in one form or another! That's good to know. I suspect that Jay learned his lesson in his long slog through Alex's ridiculous, unlabeled collection.

The date and time he gives are Wednesday, April 21st 2010, at 3:56pm -- as he says, a couple of days after receiving the package in #26. #26 was posted on April 19th, just to refresh memories!

There's no "probably" about this not being the same house that Alex and his beau were in. That house had a second floor. This one doesn't.

2:05 -- honestly thought the plastic bag over the far right window was a bag-full-o-corpse first time I watched through this. :I

The layout of the house doesn't scream "home" to me, even in the sense of a home of a poorer person or family. Something about the radiator along the bottom of the floor is very much like my old high school's, and if this were a (small) house, I would think there'd be more indication of at least hookups for a cooking area, or a bathroom -- though maybe not the latter, if this is outhouse country. Community center, maybe. Old storage area, doubtful but maybe. Guest house? Maybe, but most families wealthy enough to have a guest house would have a guest house with its own kitchen and bathroom. Considering the shelving is still there along the right side of the main room, I don't think the house is SO old or broken-down that we wouldn't see at least some indication of other homey furniture if someone had been living there.

Inspection of the frames involving the side-room don't seem to reveal any bathroom-like or kitchen-like features, either. Curiouser and curioser. It also appeared to have a door to the outside -- if this was a community center, I'd say that was some sort of boot room. (and ugh, the three white boards on the floor made me think 'AUGH CORPSE' at first glance. Mad )

The "red tower THE SEQUEL" sighting is interesting, but when I look at it I see a building attached off the right side of it, mostly obscured by trees, and another additional structure/structures behind it to the left. I will be surprised -- pleasantly -- if they've managed some sort of continuity with tall red relevant buildings!

Out of curiosity -- for anyone with experience with fire-damaged buildings -- does any of this seem like fire damage to you? The shelves could be metal, I can't tell, and I have very limited experience with fire damage.

Attached are a bunch of screenies of graffiti. I personally couldn't spot anything of immediate relevance, but I thought I'd toss them out to y'all. The most interesting thing appears to be the graffiti that says either "there" or "here" on the outside wall, though if it's relevant, it's oblique at best.

I didn't think it would be courteous to gum up Unfiction's servers with ten big pngs, so here they are in link form on my own webspace:

Sorry, that was a long quote, but what'd I'd like to mention is in the 4th .png. It looks to me like someone is in a cage. The first thought that popped in my head was a Damsel in Distress (because it looks like the one has a princess hat and a dress?). And Damsel of course made me think of EverymanHYRBRID. I know it's an EXTREMELY far stretch, but who knows.

Also, in 2.png, you can clearly see "HERE."

As for the other graffiti, it looks like it was previously here. I know that when I watched it the first time through, I saw "f u" on the wall.

I think that it Troy did in fact spraypainted on the walls, it wouldn't have been alot, because I don't personally think he would do ALL that for the sake of the video.

Anyone?

yeah i'm sort of wondering how much of that graffiti was already there and how much they added.

Don't forget, what J is going to post this time around is completely different from what he was posting in season 1. When he was uploading Alex's content, he was uploading only what to him was significant. This Time around, anything that, to him, is out of character in his mind will be something note worthy, like how at the end he notes that all he did was skim the top of what is his best clue at the time. Anyways, this could have been a one time thing, to move the story away from Alex. Or this could be the new Red Tower, for all we know this isn't No climax as much as it is setting up something bigger down the line, or next entry.

this

also It seems strange and annoying that Jay would briefly look over the building and leave without looking outside or anything (annoying to Jay as well it seems). Now would be a good time for TTA to return just to taunt Jay's lack of answers.

Jay talks to the camera in 26

I think we need to start considering which memory-loss-time theories we can start eliminating..

"J was someone else's Masky" seems pretty defunct now, but not necessarily for sure.

What other theories can we eliminate now?

While I knew that $20 thing was coming all along, I must say, that video was actually pretty creepy. Pretty damn believable too.

I think I saw a couple of Operator symbols, but I don't know. The camera moved really fast...

I also think that if this place burned down, it was a while ago. Firefighter's granddaughter, and I have to say that that does look like burn damage, but also damage from the elements and stuff.

Also, the clip of the tower in the corner could very well be a barn silo or something. It does look like a rural area.

Almost looks like it says "Amy" with two Ms...Yeah, I dunno.

Otherwise, I couldn't see much in the graffiti.

Also, around 2:54, looks like the top of a toilet on the floor to me...Which is weird.

Also also, way to not show the garbage bag window again, J. ]=
