In NBC's The Event. while I didn't see that three-dot pattern, water was a repeating theme as was "three." There were at least three sets of rock outcroppings that seemed to me to be suggesting a trident or trishula (three again within the forks plus it linking to water). There were also three buses used to move the EBEs in a late season episode which was like in Super 8 to move the townsfolk. In addition in The Event an equilateral triangle was used as the logo of the serum used on the children. The higher middle tong of a trident or trishula could also perhaps be thought of as triangular. Three might be thought of as "past, present, and future."

Getting back on track to the specific tri-dot pattern I'll submit the Mercury Engineers from The Mercury Men web series that I mentioned earlier.

This seems to qualify as well. It's shortly after the first minute of the first episode of the AMC web-series The Trivial Pursuits of Arthur Banks. Perhaps the eyeglass hinge three-dot pattern is a case of coincidence but perhaps not.

The 3 dots.

Throughout the movie, viral, and comic, there are four ways that the dots are arranged. If we view the dots being arranged as a clock, we can see that they are arranged to appear "pointing" at either 12, 3, 6, or 9 "o'clock". So, if there is a dot at 9 3, and 6, 6 would be pointing. I have listed where the dots are shown and on the position they are "pointed". If you came up with any more, please add to this thread.

At the 3 position: Research badges, boxes in the editing room and in the interactive trailer, and the back door of the trailer in the last preview.

At the 6 position: Technician badges, a panel in the comic showing the missile, and cage number three in the editing room clips.

At the 9 position: The truck trailers on the sides near toward the front, and ONE UNIDENTIFIED MAN IN A LAB COAT visible in clip # 67/68. (He is the only one that I have found with this configuration.)

At the 12 position: A second panel in the comic showing the missile, and the picture of the "hair dryer" control box in the viral.

Now, the only reference we have to any of these configurations are the badges. The dots are in a field titled "authorization". This would make it easier for security to sort who is allowed where.

The "3 position" dots seem to have one thing in common; the cubes. In the editing room, we see the researchers (3 position) mainly working on the cubes. Cubes are also in the boxes marked with the 3 position.

We also see the technicians "6 position" mainly involved with the "subject"They are Mr. Minker along with the man wearing glasses with him during the assault. The cage is also the 6 position.

With so many questions still around, the unidentified lab coat guy is a mystery. What is his authorization? Why is he the only one shown to us with the badge in the 9 position?

Perhaps another candidate for the collection is from the first episode of a web series called Aidan 5 (at the 3:40 mark)-

Besides the 3-dot triangle it also incorporates a scribed equilateral triangle that I mentioned previously that I've seen in shows like FlashForward and The Event. I believe the pattern is meant to be part of an effort to play a joke on viewers that perhaps is connected to various apocalypse stories, alien invasions, "2012" and the end of the Mayan Calendar. Rolling Eyes

An example of such a site is this that includes mention of equilateral triangles- http://www.mt.net/~watcher/pyramid.html

Imho if I'm right regarding "Hollywood" using embedded clues to pull our collective legs that are also used for ARGs they're taking the fun of following clues away, for me at least. This was apparently done leading up to the Y2K scare and perhaps the technique is being recycled again for the "2012 event." I can't wait for 2013 to get here so possible clues that are left for us in our entertainment media have a better purpose.

Awesome! Never heard about these webseries, but it looks very interesting. I'll watch it.

Web series are really coming into their own lately and I'm enjoying them quite a bit. Renee O'Conner (Gabrielle in Xena) has ARK which is very good. BTW it makes use of those equilateral triangles as tracking avatars and also incorporates them into a Buckminster Fuller geodesic dome.

I can't say enough praise for The Mercury Men as it's extremely addicting and I'm impatiently waiting for news of a season two. The way to watch MM is on HD On Demand, thanks to SyFy now backing the show. Besides SyFy hosting it online Hulu is also carrying it. Aidan 5 has Bill Shatner helping that series out with his myouterspace.com website.

In a side note regarding the three-dot pattern of the JJ Abrams connected Enigmatrix and the nodes and lines being a Kabbalistic Tree of Life, I also saw clues from FlashForward that directed me to see each of the ten main characters perfectly fitting the archetypes of the nodes. The top three nodes are meant to signify being in heaven and happen to form a triangle. I've seen this (but it might be just me) as also represented as the many "love triangles" that shows I've watched seem to have. If a show doesn't begin with or suggest right from the start a love triangle (such as FlashForward and The Walking Dead) it brings one in later (like with Eureka). I do feel like I'm getting bombarded with triangles, lol. This can of course also be connected with the All Seeing Eye, Eye of God, etc.

When I offered my thinking of three as past-present-future I had come up with that from watching Life on Mars (ABC), FlashForward and The Event. In following Fringe though they are bringing that up in their YouTube playlist clips called FRINGE - "Past + Present + Future."

I made this up last year for The Event but the PMs would likely say I was manipulated into creating it based on their subliminal suggestions such as the clip after it- Smile

My "3-dot triangle" above was made before seeing the film Super 8 but if I saw a teaser of the pattern on the trailers then they "got to me" and my graphic wasn't my own. Smile

Here are the 3-dot patterns on the semi-trailer containers from the Super 8 film that have been mentioned here already iirc. Notice that there are three containers and they are a reddish color. Perhaps the red color could be linked to the earlier Spielberg film of the remake of War of the Worlds but that might be a stretch. I have already mentioned the connection of Elle and Dakota Fanning as a link between the two films. We also have Mars in the news a lot due to the rovers and that Mars had a past with flowing water perhaps. Next year is another major film with Mars in a central role- John Carter.

As a way to segue from the three trucks with the tri-dot containers to these three buses in episode 115 of NBC's The Event here,

we can see that in Super 8 we also have three buses which perhaps might be a subliminal message of stating three in repeating iterations.

A possible connection to stars has been mentioned already but what about Orion's belt? Although they are not in a triangular pattern but nearly linear as observed from Earth, the stars number three and the triangular link can be when including the theory that the three Egyptian pyramids (with triangular sides) are connected to them.

FlashForward might be thought to provide a candidate as the middle star of the paramilitary tattoos are higher than the outer ones and resembles the rock formation patterns in The Event.

A similar three-pronged trident pattern (with a slightly taller middle building) can be gleaned from this billboard from episode 101 of The Event-

Miami is described as the western node of the Bermuda/Devil's Triangle. In The Event the cruise line is called Trident and the ship traveled from Miami to Saint Lucia, near the southern border of the triangle. Saint Lucia's flag has triangles that represent the volcanic peaks of the island. The Pitons are near-twins in height and are less tall than Mt. Gimie. According to Wikipedia-

Quote:
Saint Lucian cultural festivals include La Rose and La Marguerite, the first's representing the Rosicrucian order, and the second's representing Freemasonry. This can be seen on a mural painted by Dunstan St Omer, depicting the holy trinity of Osiris, Horus and Isis.
This is where I thought that I might see a triangle show up later and it did in the logos on the vials and in this late season episode (115) with Hal Holbrook-

It's the same episode where they showed the group of three buses carrying the EBEs (aliens).

I watched the film Warriors tonight and saw the font used for the Sparta competition represent the letter A as a triangle. Since there are two A's in Sparta and Nick Nolte's character was involved in AA in the film, I saw a connection between the two.

If you watch Sy-Fy's ALPHAS they treat the two A's differently there as well.

To show that conspiracy theories can be made from any source material, I stumbled onto the notion that the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous has a strange bedfellow- Freemasonry. I'm seeing various conspiracy topics woven into the background of series and films and not really as a component of the relevant mythology. Oh, a mention in Warrior tonight of the number three was the physics teacher answering a student regarding how many laws Newton had. The teacher held up three fingers and carefully stressed "three."

The Amblin logo can be thought to contain the three dot triangle if we juxtapose the two bicycle wheels (or the centers of the wheels) with Elliott's head position.

To go along with the water molecule that was already mentioned, the ancient alchemical symbol for water is in fact a downward-aligned equilateral triangle.

It is said we are now in the age of Aquarius. Smile

We might think of the three-dot triangle as an abstract Triskelion, as seen in this graphic of the Celtic Tree of Life.

Or it might be that the logo of BDSM was what JJ had in mind. Laughing

I need to confirm my memory of this but iirc I saw a bowling pin under Joe's bed in Super 8. This is not something that would likely be under anyone's bed let alone a kid's bed in real life.
