(And if someone who knows how to use iMovie much better than I would be so awesome as to make a music video using one of the songs from this movie, I would be ever so grateful. Just sayin'.)

Good to see you enjoyed one of my videos!
It's fitting that you'd post that here; I'd have never found that song, or made that video, if people hadn't mentioned it earlier in this thread.
So I guess we've come full circle now. Smile

Fun fact: I did an analysis of the Donnie Darko soundtrack for music course (fine arts requirement) in college.

I can sum up a good genre of music for Marble Hornets in two words:

No Fi.

Not just the masks, but the lyrics about chemicals and ect, remind me a lot of Tim, the meds, the chemicals that make our brains work and possibly make the characters so insane.

And more masks, the lyrics about a chase and not to run away. It kinda reminds me of Jessica and Jay, I could see Jay saying stuff along these lines to Jessica. When he finally gets some development, and tackles TO and takes on a more active role in general.

The song Sanitarium by Mettalica reminds me of slenderman in general because of the ARK. If you are familiar with everymanHYRBID, the ARK is the slendermans domain, and in the (possibly canon) video "welcome to the ARK" they talk about how "The sun hasn't been out in three days". This has lead to the theory that time does not pass in the ARK (or candleverse, or iteration land, or w/e you want to call it). and the first verse of sanitarium reminds me of that.

Welcome to where time stands still
No one leaves and no one will
Moon is full, never seems to change
Just labeled mentally deranged
Dream the same thing every night
I see our freedom in my sight
No locked doors, no windows barred
No things to make my brain seem scarred

Sleep, my friend, and you will see
That dream is my reality
They keep me locked up in this cage
Can't they see it's why my brain says "rage"

and conclusions can be drawn from the rest of the song as well.

For some reason this song always makes me think of MH. Probably partly because I heard it on the same day The Arrival was announced.

A lot of Tool's eerie instrumental-focused tracks do a good job.

The first few verses of the song remind me about hoody and Alex. You'll listen why I say that...

These Woods Breathe Evil, by Swallow the Sun.
The song is actually about the 90's TV show Twin Peaks, but the lyrics always also remind me of Marble Hornets, and Slenderman in general.

"Tortured by these voices, like flies around me
They chased me here and you invited me in...
These woods breathe evil!
Rust on the ground and the arches of fire!
These woods breathe evil!
Here in the circle of eerie winds!
Towards the black heart of magnetic north"

The part that also reminds me of Season 2:

"Here I reached the point of no return
With my hands around you they chased me here
To this hotel of ghosts
And they showed me this room, this room with a view
And you invited me in..."

In some ways, Try It by The Hollies...

"Travel by the silver line
To a place that has no time.
Why don't you try it now?

Working hard to see the light,
Let your mind take up in flight.
Why don't you try it now?

It's beautiful, seeing all the colors of the rainbow,
Beautiful, covering the people that we know.

See the color of health
Flowing from your older self.
Why don't you try it now?

Living good, stopped playing games,
Traveling the astral planes.
Why don't you try it now?"

Made an account for this. "Gotta Get Away" by The Offspring seems to match Marble Hornets perfectly, if you pay attention to the lyrics.
