Thundertrance Interlude by Worrytrain.

Listen to it. Tell me if you can figure out why it reminds me of Marble Hornets and why I shit myself when it came on shuffle at 3 AM.

Listen to it for at least 45 seconds.

Going a bit 'underground' here, but pretty much anything by Zoe Keating (the 'avant Cellist'), in particular her album 'Into The Trees' and the track 'Hello Night'. Check out anything by her actually. Very atmospheric, and she plays it all herself (literally... she layers herself playing Cello for every song... look up a live video, she's amazing).

(Sorry to gush on Zoe, but I'm a huge fan and this sorta just came to mind as I'm listening to it now)

Also, yes on 'Me I'm Not' and 'Faaip di Oiad'

Yes, but I actually didn't originally hear that audio from Tool. It's recycled in a couple of songs by the pAper chAse, in the Now You Are One of Us album. A LOT a lot of paper chase songs make me think of Slenderman and MarbleHornets. What's So Amazing About Grace, probably the creepiest song on the album, always makes me think of TTA videos. And the chorus from "The House is Alive and the House is Hungry" always brings up the 'old' Slenderman myths for me:

'I want a man who splays down in the street
The swinging bodies and the children in the wet concrete'

I've only got a whole playlist dedicated to this.

Who's that Creepin'? by Big Bag Voodoo Daddy.

(Hush Hush Hush) Here Comes the Boogeyman by Henry Hall

And then there's (Don't Fear) The Reaper, Hell Frozen Rain from Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and Man With the Hex by The Atomic Fireballs.

River Twygz Bed from Super Paper Mario also reminds me of Slenderman specifically, mostly because the song is so disturbing. (Apparently it's also the same forwards and backwards, though I haven't tested that quite yet.)

You just made my day for knowing this band.

My parents saw them in Florida in the fall and bought some CDs of theirs for Christmas. They're incredible!

I really, really have no idea why. But the techno-y sounds in the 'Like a G6' song always always makes me think of the sound distortion in Marble Hornets. o_______________o And it freaks me out a little. :3 Tee hee.

Aren't they just the greatest?

I have a terrible weakness for swing/big band And Big Bad Voodoo Daddy does an amazing job of filling that niche. o 3o

Big and Bad has to be one of my all-time favorite songs. I picture Ava from The London Librarian whenever I listen to it - unfortunately, it doesn't quite fit Alex or Jay.

"He Doesn't Know Why" by the Fleet Foxes. Tone isn't the same (folk guitar =/= creeping paranoia) but the lyrics are too perfect.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjgkRoPLYRk

Lyrics:

Penniless and tired, with your hair grown long
I was looking at you there and your face looked wrong
Memory is a fickle siren song
I didn't understand

In the gentle light as the morning nears
You don't say a single word of the last two years
Where you were when you reached the frontier
I didn't understand, no

See your rugged hands and a silver knife
Twenty dollars in your hand makes you hold so tight
All the evidence of your vagrant life
My brother you were born

And you will try to do what you did before
Pull the wool over your eyes
For a week or more
Let your family take you back to your original mind

There's nothing I can do
There's nothing I can do
There's nothing I can say
There's nothing I can say
I can say

Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers

I don't know why but the beginning always makes me picture some video footage of a camera laying on the ground in some wooded area and you're watching and waiting for anything to happen. Then, right before the drums stop, the video distorts and goes black, proving Slenderman is still out there even after everyone thought it was over? Cue the credits and viola, there's a great ending scene with room for a sequel xD

But other than that, parts of the lyrics make me think of like.. masky or slendy encouraging Jay or Alex to keep moving? (Or maybe even Alex encouraging Jay to keep going or vice verse) I don't know, it's hard to describe..

He is climbing in your windows
He is snatching your people up
Trying to rape them so you better
Hide yo kids, Hide yo wife
Hide yo kids, Hide yo wife
And hide your husband cause Slendy is raping everybody out here
