All's well. Back to topic.

No harm, no foul. Keep your chin up. I hope everyone you care about is safe. I keep waiting to see if I'm going to get deployed there or not for disaster relief. But I suspect that the California teams or West coast teams will get first call. Didn't mean to kick a nerve. Very Happy Scientists are cool dudes and dudettes. We wouldn't have the medicines or technology we have today if it wasn't for a scientist of some sort. And yes Computer guys, you too, computer scientists. There, did I Cover My @$$ enough? Embarassed

Back on topic, I cannot see the fish that a few of you have said exists in picture #6. I have looked, photo shopped the picture, changed hues, color saturations, brightness, contrast. I just don't see the fish. Can someone who does see it point it out?

Jane you're a PS pro. Have you been able to pull a fish out?

Take care there, Dust King. I have a few friends/semi-relations in NZ we haven't been able to contact yet. I hope you and all yours are safe and well, if not quite settled yet.

Thanks alot guys. It is great to know that other people are concerned and ready to help us get through this. Hopefully that will be the last quake we have in a long while. Wink

Care, concern, compassion; love for your fellow man; the best of all virtues--sadly, it's only when there is a tragedy that we tend to demonstrate these and come together.

Sort of reminds me of when Reagan was speaking before the UN and (paraphrasing), his feeling that if we faced an alien threat we would put aside our petty differences.

Lab pic / floating crystal

Back in 1927 Science and Invention magazine re-published an article from a German journal about an antigravity experiment. Supposedly scientists zapped crystal quartz with enough voltage to cause it to lose weight, turn opaque, become buoyant and float. The experiment was conducted at temperatures around 50 degrees F. In the very next issue, Science and Invention magazine said the experiment was a hoax. The buoyant crystal reminded me of the lab pictures from the trailers with the floating white cube. Here's a link to the PDF that includes the German article, pictures, the Science and Invention article and retraction, and further comments on the topic as you scroll down: www.rexresearch.com/kowsky/kowsky.pdf

Here's a picture (poor quality) from the German article:

Flash forward to Wired magazine issue 11.08 from August 2003 (which appeared in an episode of Lost).
This issue has a story about antigravity that mentions floating devices called lifters, Area 51 and NASA experiments. A lab at NASA includes a 3 foot square table with a 3 foot tall bell jar over it and a lifter beneath the jar, which sounds something like the setup in the lab pics with the large glass jar.

Don't know if any of this has anything to do with the ARG – but the floating crystal and the lab with the bell jar seem to connect. The experiments in the articles involve some type of propulsion that could be an alternative energy source. I can get the cave connection - but am not sure how it could tie into the bio part of biospeleologist.
