This "green and purple" business reminds me of a practical joke my friends and I played on one of our roommates sophomore year at school. One day, after he returned from a weekend home, the rest of us would say "pudding" to one another and laugh, as if it was some inside joke he had missed. We kept it going all school year and refused to tell him the nature of it. He would get all worked up and frustrated every time we'd bring it up.

Finally, on the day he moved out, we told him it was a made up inside joke. He rage'd. Ironically, the whole thing became an inside joke in and of itself. That's what I'm thinking is going on with this "green and purple" controversy.

The only thing about purple and green I can find is a tumblr for some Portland hip-hop duo. Other than very obviously being from Portland, I see nothing terribly offensive about them.

I thought it had something to do with The Hulk, what with his green skin and sometimes purple pants. How it's supposed to relate to Evan or the internet, I'm not totally sure.
