We don't see the Operator stalking children of course. We also don't see tentacles. The Operator is not Slenderman as is well known. However it is based on/inspired by Slenderman and shows much of the same behaviour, so it is reasonable to assume that for whatever reason both choose children as victims. The Operator did not find children as we have seen, instead it found teens reliving childhood memories (in the MH movie) and would normally have not bothered with them, except for the fact Alex caught it on camera multiple times.

All I'm saying is that the Marble Hornets movie, the story, the script, whatever you want to call it is not irrelevant, it fits in with the whole Slenderman mythos.

Not really. There's nothing to support this line of thinking other than the fact that the Operator is inspired by/based on Slenderman. Apart from the obvious visual similarities, we have no reason to assign him any of the typical Slenderman tropes unless they're specifically referenced.

Again, I can't really agree with you here. The Marble Hornets story only fits the Slenderman mythos if your theory is correct. Do you not think it's a bit of a stretch to move from SM stalking children to stalking young adults acting in a film in which their characters merely refer to their fictional childhoods?

I don't mean to offend here but that seems to be interpreting the evidence selectively to fit a theory, when we should really be altering theories to fit the evidence.

I do think you're right that the plot of Marble Hornets (the in-game Marble Hornets film, not MH itself) shouldn't be assumed to be irrelevant though. I just think we're yet to see howit fits into the whole thing.

Although I already talked about my questions about why the operator is acting in a different thread, it is a bit of a stretch to say, "Alex saw a person on his camera and so started investigating."

WARNING major speculation incoming:

We know the Slenderman has some relation to children, but even in the "cannon" mythos it was unclear what this was. Did he torture them? Eat them? Kidnap them only to leave them behind scarred? Replace them with changelings? My theory is that Alex, as well as possibly some of the other people in Marble Hornets were taken as children and Alex sub-consciously chose to film his movie, about finding your childhood home is no longer how you remember it, near the slenderman's hideout (the place with all the blood). This could account for the operator re-targeting an older audience.
