Essential Reading What Slenderman stories should I follow? I started watching Marble Hornets when it was around it's 20th entry, and have only recently discovered this forum. Thus, I have discovered that there are a ton of other slenderman stories out there. But some are better than others.
I've looked around and it's really hard to distinguish which stories are better than others. I know EverymansHYBRID is popular, but I'm finding it hard to follow due to just starting it now. And the idea of slenderblogs is a little difficult to get into.
Could you guys point me in the right direction? What blogs/video series' should I follow? I'm really interested in the Slenderman mythos and would like to start getting into it with my spare time, but I don't know where to start.

EMH is worth the investment - even if you just watch the videos. It a larph!
Tribe Twelve is worth a look - a lot easier to follow from youtube
Dark Harvest is also doing well at the moment, again mainly youtube based so easy to follow.
In terms of blogs, I follow these ones:
Make it Count - the story of Celie and her friends is pretty good.
Musical Occurances - has been going a long while, but hes got some good ideas and occasionally brings multi-media elements in.
Seeking Truth - the quintessential SM story, sort of on hiatus at the moment, but the beast is somewhat stirring.

Well, you started off right with Marble Hornets. I do recommend EMH just 'cause it's a good series, but I'd watch it hand-in-hand with the wiki 'cause it does get confusing. Tribe Twelve starts off slow but gets really good, Angel's Game has a lot of videos but has some really cool Slendy scenes, Dark Harvest I can recommend, and (though others will disagree probably) Jonclubs DID do quite a few things right.
As for blogs, Just Another Fool is the grandaddy, so definitely read that. Dreams in Darkness, The Tutorial, Make it Count, all good reads. An older one from way long ago called In My Head, In My Mind is also a really good read for beginners.
Other than that, we have a list on the forum of almost every Slender blog/vlog in existence, so I direct you to that for further use.
Hope that helps.

+1 to Musical Occurences, it's really grown on me over its run. The person writing it seems to have realised that whilst the disadvantage of writing a slendyblog is that you have to work harder to come up with really compelling mental images, the big advantage is that you can do things in prose which simply aren't viable in a slendyvlog made with a less-than-Hollywood-scale budget. (EDIT TO ADD: And I'm REALLY glad he's moved away from the code bullshit, which is something which absolutely plagues slenderblogs and I'm absolutely sick of.)
I'm actually less keen than most people seem to be on Seeking Truth. I'm just not that into the Zeke Strahm character everyone seems to go loopy for.

CompileTRUTH is a lot of fun, I've recently discovered, and will teach you about all the Slenderseries out there.

I'm not very into Seeking Truth either. I mean, the writer is obviously very talented but the character seems like a Resident Evil hero transposed onto things and it doesn't fit with the mood of stuff like MH/EMH/TT at all to me.

Yeah, he's kind of a douche. And really, seven months and still no word on what happened in the warehouse? That author is a dillweed.

This. The compilation videos are useful. I definitely recommend everymanHYBRID and the wiki [http://everymanhybrid.wikia.com/wiki/EverymanHYBRID_Wiki]. Good series.

That Compile guy puts so much work in and the product looks so nice that I kind of have to admire it. I don't know where he finds the time.

Also, if you get into SeekingTruth, go to Zeke's profile, he continues it in The Mystic

ORIGIN OF SIMULATION - by far my favorite blog, it even trumped the amazing Zecke, in my book. Whoever does this: HUGE kudos!!
THE MYSTIC - Zecke's comeback, it's AWESOME!!

Seeking Truth is my favorite of the Slenderblogs, easily, followed by Dreams in Darkness and Just Another Fool. I think catching up with those three blogs gives you an excellent overview of the Mythos.
As does Zeke apparently, he's doing some form of Dreams in Darkness crossover over at The Mystic, which is the continuation of Seeking Truth.
That's one thing you'll probably run into down the track, when you start getting into the blogs further and further; a lot of them reference each other, even if it is just namedropping. You can find a wide scope of the other Slenderblogs just by following Zeke, I believe. He's kind of, all-pervasive in the Mythos.

Oh, protip: if you see a blog talking about the "Core Theory" and taking it seriously like it isn't a heap of bullshit, you can pretty much write it off as a lost cause.

I'ma disagree there. XD Core Theory itself seems sound. The titles and magic and stupid shit like that, is what pissed me off.
Plus, if you were to write off Core Theory, you'd have to write off The Mystic.

Well, I don't acknowledge Seeking Truth or Wesker, er, Strahm in relation to MH or EMH so I don't see why I should with Core Theory. I have no idea what that is.
