So both Fred and Ruthie belong to founding families - and that makes it four characters in the Harmon family (Peg, Fred, Molly and Lawrence).

When you email Ruth, try to ask something that will give us more information that we haven't achieved yet. Ask private if s/he is in the library book club, and if you can have a list of who is in the book club. I have a suspicion that the book group is made up of founding families, and newcomers are the ones placed on the 'long wait list'.

I'm also thinking that Private might be from a founding family but not lived in the area until the last ten years. This might be why s/he is given lenient access to the vault while it not being open to others.

Well, I can confirm that more than one person person received the overdue notices.

Apparently I've also earned some late fees on the very same books diszaster has also kept past due... Razz

Wikibruce received four overdue notices today (monday - mailing to Canada always takes longer Sad ), but they're exactly the same as the ones posted to ARGN, so nothing new, sorry.

Hi everyone this is my first time to dive into an ARG! I have read up on all of the posts until now and read the library and Peg's websites.

I also just sent Ruthie an email related to the Events Page:

 		I've sent off my questions to Ruthie. Hopefully we'll be able to get some information out of her. As for the pigpen cipher... What happens if we put the notes in alphabetical order according to the pigpen symbols? I'll try it once I have time.

The pigpen symbols double up, so we can try this but it will still need some guesswork.

I'm also interested in the word cards that don't have symbols on them:

Page 1: [H sleeves my V] [Green sleeves but] [L] [] [Lazy E/&]
Page 2: [S my was] [my joy] [N And my] [light E/&] [Green gold was]

Ok, well, this doesn't actually tell us anything NEW, but while I was writing a note to Private asking some questions, including the question you guys asked me to ask, I noticed I had already gotten an e-mail from Private!

It reads...

I have been watching Peg's Snow Town blog. It seems that Fred left her some odd notes.

It would be difficult for me to approach Fred and Peg about this matter. It might be best for you and your community to approach them with questions. Please do not mention me or the information I have given to you.

You can contact her via her blog, post questions in the comments field. No other contact. Mind you, she's not that good at answering the questions I've put to her so far, but we can keep trying.

 		Hi, I generally hang out in other areas, but this caught my eye, being about libraries and books and all. (hope you don't mind me poking my nose in...) I think I'm going to send Ruthie an e-mail - do you have any suggestions about what in particular? I was thinking about asking her about duties as a librarian and old books, since I've got a bit of a familiarity with the latter.

I looked up the book in question, and there was one thing I noticed, a line about one of the plots of the book being "a war between the lowland Scots (led by James V) and the highland clans (led by Roderick Dhu of Clan Alpine)". I might be sleep deprived, but maybe this has to do with the people originally from the town and the newcomers?

It could perhaps but neither of the factions you just mentioned share the name of either of the founding families.


And I'm not sure if the founding families mentioned in this ARG are fictional or what, but if anyone would look up the two names (I forgot what they were), and wanted to let us know to what extent the families existed that would be great. I would, but I'm about to go to bed.

From what I can tell they're the words that belong in the chorus. I guess it's a way of separating them out from the words that belong in the verses.

I've arranged the words to the song in the order they should be. Although some words are repeats and may be in the wrong place. Anyways, I've put the pigpen letters in the word order. Below is all three different pigpen ciphers from Purple Hell. Obviously none of them make sense, so I guess they also need decoding. I'll try to add scans of the song tomorrow.
