The Printout - In Relation to D12 Might have something OK, When you look at the printout, it has This symbol '>' Basicly showing how old a post is. The older the the post the more '>' there is
I thought that a D (as from "D12") has the same sort of shape as '>'
Therefore "D12" could mean >>>>>>>>>>>> (12 '>')
Leading to this post is:
"See, I have the damn thing. What is it?"
Along with the picture.
We know that the picture led to the craigslist revaltion and might have something to do with this.
M said "upload the rest to me using the D12 entry"
Posting on craiglist is kind of an "upload" and that was an "entry"
Could this mean something?
I've searched on craigslist for TROGL and the book name, couldnt find anything.
Also we know M usualy has perfect grammer yet in one of the messages he left out a D:
"No. Keep posting. Say you were robbe. Say you've involved the police. Lie. You need to act normal."
This is quite unusual for him (even though he has made mistakes in the past, maybe it was just JJ's mistake)
But if this means something, maybe he was telling Josh to leave out the D from the seach engine?
I tried to the book name, still no luck without the D, still no luck.
I dont know if this was worthy of a new topic but i needed to know, does anyone have any ideas for search names, or have an idea how this picture is connected with D12?

Well, after he told Josh to take down the Craigslist postings for security reasons, it would seem a little strange for The Mystery Man to then ask him to go back and upload a secret code there...
But the way this ARG is progressing (or lack thereof) anything's possible <S>

Yes he did tell him to take down the postings
But he could be telling him to put another one up under a codename, which is why i brang up the D
But, the printouts may be a logical clue, can anyone think of a connection?

I feel your pain. I've tried so many different combinations of D12 possibilities (but never the 12 >s idea). I found a PDP-11 Simulator Usage doc while googling today. Then I searched the unforum and found that AdamEmerson posted the same simh doc link here way back in July. I've been trying since September to make sense of the DEVICE? prompt. Maybe it's just meant to drive us bonkers.
D = 500 in Roman numerals. D = December. D = down. D= day.
D= dumb-f~ing piece of ! (that ain't no brownie)
It doesn't stop there. The date as an url and googling it: September 19, 1962 / 9-19-1962 / 09-19-62 / etc.
And then the vertical mirror image: 2961-61-6 etc.
And the reverse and in combo with TROGL, NASA, Area 51, PDP-11, etc.
And binder, Moby Dick, coelacanth, Fergus Falls State Hospital, and craigslist items and …………………….
Is there any chance that JJ is a sadist?

I feel your pain--and then some.
We get nothing but a dribble for what seemed like months, then with the Super 8 Bowl, we're flooded with images.
Do they really connect with anything prior to that?
Perhaps the b & w photos look like classic Mysterio, but the others look more like the time of the 1979 incident.
Separating the b & w photos from the rest we have a date and what looks to be lab workers in the course of experimentation, or recording data/telemetry , etc.
Maybe it would be better to try and group together everything that has come from Mysterio with the b & w photos and see if something connects.
I'm ready for an epiphany--a double on the rocks would be nicer.

It doesn't help that the craigslist ad was posted on the same day as the new chat. Now, where did I put that tin foil?

Those titles are strange... as for Classics Illustrated issues from the 40s/50s, #5 is Moby Dick and #9 is Les Miserables, but the rest are something different.... #7 is Robin Hood, #1 is the Three Musketeers, #6 is A Tale of Two Cities, and #4 is The Last of the Mohicans...
Interesting how there is a 'countdown' in there of 3 musketeers, 2 cities and the last (1) mohican...
I wonder if the issue numbers have something to do with the coding system that M is looking for? Or maybe the titles are hinting at the code?
Of course, this is assuming that this ad is in-game...
Oy... its too late... maybe I'm seeing things...

I'm in your boat. I tried alphabet substitution. Using D12 as the starting point. rearranged messages, all I could think of while trying this was Ralphie from Christmas Story and his little orphan Annie decoder ring. I'm stumpped.

The #s on some of the comics in this craigslist ad are from different classics illustrated comic series. A few are from the World Around Us series.
I'll call the phone number in a little while and see what's what. It may be late to you there Kevster (really late!) - but it's kinda early here for a Saturday morning. I don't want to give this seller too early of a wakeup call. I'll let you know what I find out.

Just called (a few minutes after 9:00 am) - maybe still too early - got voicemail:
Hi it's _____ ... unable to take your call right now. Please leave a message and have a great day.
It was a female voice with a hint of a southern WV accent. I didn't clearly hear her name and didn't want to call right back to listen again - in case she is still sleeping. I have to remind myself that some people aren't up so early trying to save the world. I was hoping to take a road trip to St. Albans, but this is looking OOG. I'll try calling again later.

Ohhh noo.. see what I've started... I should have just let the numbers lay.
Well Rocket if you must sate the "number beast" that runs in our heads , please make sure you utilize your FFSH conversation with her as well.
At this point I am sure that we have found the Kladrog keeper herself.
You might want to ask if she keeps those "Comics" yeah right lady .. in some cave like structure for safe keeping.
And BTW how did she upload that info onto craigslist HUH?? looks very PDP-11ish to me...
OOOO IT'S ALL COMING TO A HEAD NOW..YEAH I SEE YOUR GAME LADY... WE GOT YOU NOW...."murhahahah"
..srry my foil cap had a hole in it

Hey Jane – if they throw me into the slammer on some trumped up harassment charges, I'll use my one phone call to ask you to come talk sense to the judge.

lool If i was in America i would call. But stuck in London, where im gonna have to wait ages to watch Super 8
Still lets hope this is a good lead!
There must be another website out there waiting to be found!
Also this is pure specualtion but, a lot of the titles found in the craigslist ad tie in with Super 8 (sort of)
1. #5 moby dick - Beast of a whale? Like the monster/alien in super 8?
2. #7 pirates - Dont know this 1
3. #9 les miserables- Dont know this 1
4. #1 story of dogs - The picture of the lost dogs?
5. #6 FBI - FBI get involved to sort out monster/alien
6. #4 railroad - obvious
In fact the number #4 #5 #6, go in order, maybe this is the order of the film
They kind of tie in to the pictures we found in the TV Spot
But this ad could mean nothing lol
