Last thing I'm going to say on this topic because I don't want to have anything to do with perpetuating it...

How about we all just ignore comments that seem to be posted deliberately to aggravate? I mean, if they are troll comments than ANY form of response is exactly what they're going for anyway, right?

You can't argue with trolls. Logic and common sense don't work, nor does pointing out their flaws or hypocrisy. They're often blatantly hypocritical anyway because they know it winds people up and makes it even harder to ignore them.

I know this can be easier said than done if someone has really offended or annoyed you but responding just feeds the argument and keeps the shit flying.

And if they're not trolls and actually want to be a part of the forums, they'll learn the etiquette soon enough if only friendly, relevant posts get replies.

Seriously, the only way this is going to die out is if people leave it alone. It's getting to the point now that every time I see someone take the bait I wince and think "damn, hooked another one".

TL;DR: Don't feed the trolls. Not at all! Nothing! Not even a single hint of a response. They'll go foraging somewhere else eventually if you don't.

P.S: Magyk, this wasn't a response to your post (I know it probably looked like it coming right after yours). I just wanted to put it out there and this was the first relevant place I found to put it.
