Re: Videbimus Lumen
problems...

Ack! I must be really dense, but I'm totally stuck with Videbimus Lumen. I feel like I've tried every possible permutation but still no luck.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer is 8 letters; try a simpler method.

I've read all the suggestions and feel like I'm looking in the right place
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have the 8 names from the facade, I know the answer is 8 letters, and I have the two sets of numbers from the top picture and bottom picture, what else?! How do I use the numbers? I feel like I've tried everything.

but some more help would be greatly appreciated!

Nearly have everything else, but feel a bit silly about this one.

check the Help page and try one of the techniques listed there.

I am stuck on two of the seals - Recursion and the danged clock.

I have the three boxes in Recursion, read all the wikis on recursive stuff, and yet haven't found an answer. Is the answer the answer to the third box question or something else?

As to the clock, I can start each hand, I can stop each hand, I can switch pairs, I don't know why I'd want to, but I can. When I stop together, I either get a falling numeral or a chime, I assume the chime is good, and the numeral is bad. But can't quite figure out the objective...

As to the facade - it is a good one - if you have the names, and the two sets of numbers, you have what you need. One set obviously involves a sequence, and the other a position...

I solved Recursion without getting any of the three boxes. Just read all the spoiler clues in this discussion, it will help.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Cartesian spoiler helps to figure out the grid. And the Recursive computer theory is where you go to when you know the question and just need the last answer for the blue window.

Again, I solved this without ever hearing any chimes.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Is chime supposed to happen when you get no numeral? In that case, it is good.
The numeral, however, is significant and you should pay attention to what it says.

Yet there is no numeral to start... hmmmm....

Hmmm... yes, I see the two parts of the Descartes thing... the first to use the grid to generate the three boxes, but the second to walk... do we use the grid for that too??? Hmmmm....

If you've got the three boxes, the walk clue will be of no further help to you. Someone later said "Take them as they come." which is probably a clearer instruction for that aspect. For the last part of it, I'll haltingly provide one more link on the recursion topic.

Much appreciated. I think this is a great little site, but with these two kind of dismay me...(well I can't even find the Next to Nothing...lol... but these are the last two -non-special day ones, I think...)

Thanks...

Re: Videbimus Lumen

Ack - still no luck! I feel so thick, this is what I've tried...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I seriously tried all the indexing, mapping, and number ranges that I could find. I have the 8 names and the sequence of numbers, but can't seem to map them out to anything! If somebody could PM with the missing link, that would be amazing. I know it's going to be so obvious once I see it, but oh well...

Spelling Bee

I'm not sure what's wrong with me. I've solved most of the non-date related seals, but Spelling Bee is giving me fits. I've:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
found all six typos, and played with them in all the ways that seem obvious (to me at least), but I'm still very stuck.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

I think you may simply be over thinking things. Not everything is a puzzle.

Did you get confirmation each time you found one? 5 to go? etc...

Dude. I'm so sorry. I guess I got a little recursive, there.
That link I forgot to haltingly post is:

Yes.

(To avoid double posting): I am down to a couple seals needed that don't require special days. Patron and regular I'm sure are for visiting a set number of days. Theorem champ, rookie, veteran, expert I believe are for solving a theorem first/quickly/set number.

Two in a row: not sure on this one, but given the seals listed before it, I assume it has to do with simply solving two current theorems, possibly without clues.

Disobedience: I understand I'm supposed to do something that I'm "not supposed" to do, but I have no idea what that might be.

Evangelist: I thought this might be posting something to facebook, no dice. Perhaps donating? Is there even a donate button? Maybe getting people to join? I got the seal for sending an invite, is this for the person accepting the invite?

There's actually a menu item that will help you evangelize... in the bar across the top... once you do, you'll recognize the verbiage...

Disobedience is one that you were told NOT to use... maybe kinda sorta someone not to contact...mmmmm?

I finally got Recursion thanks to help, but still fighting that danged clock... and I have no idea where next to nothing is... I assume, as you do that there are frequency seals for repeat success...

Even though I cracked the texts in the 3 boxes by
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
dictionary-attacking the salted md5 hashes
, it took me several days to figure out how was I really supposed to get them.

btw I don't get how people struggle with the traveler seal, it seems pretty self-explanatory to me. It's not even a puzzle, a pre-schooler could do it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
you need to travel, you won't solve it by sitting at home (unless you know how it works and have the necessary technical means)
