Seal Browser and Highlighter

Getting a bit frustrated with the Highlighter & Seal Broswer ones... have read all of the posted tips and hints, but have yet to have my 'aha!' moment.

Any additional nudges?

See the aforementioned, "Rule #1".

Ok... so thanks to that nudge I found the Highlighter & figured out Next to Nothing. Still at a loss for the Seal Browser Sad

Vidibemus Lumen

I am so, SO stumped. I've read ALL of the clues and nothing has helped me figure this out.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Clues I've read about:
1) Facade
2) Butler Library
3) 8 names on the North side of the library
4) Two number sequences, you have to do something to one of them
5) Multiple clues in the song

and so on.

Yet it still doesn't make ANY sense! I've tried

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
-Rearranging the numbers on the library according to the first number sequence set in order
-Picking the letters from each of the 8 names
-Tried reversing the order of the names

I have just about given up. Could someone please help?

Once again, I greatly over-complicate the theorem.

Yes, I suppose I did. Thankfully, a friend helped me solve this one.

Here's another question:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When you go to

http://www.themastertheorem.com/there/is/no/spoon

You're given a choice between the red pill and the blue pill. Feeling like a smartass, I chose the blue pill. I was immediately sent back to the site with a landscape picture and a note that said "Enjoy your perfect world."

Is there any way to get back to that choice?

EDIT: Never mind, I

Re: recursion puzzle
help

Me again, heh.

Have you gotten any boxes? Or are you trying to figure out what the boxes refer to? If you haven't gotten any of the boxes, Red Dog's post gets you as close as possible without giving you the answer.

I've read all the clues you guys have given in reference to the recursion puzzle and still can't get anywhere. Is there are starting letter you can give me please? Been stumped on this for days and it's doing my head in

thanks in advance

Regarding the Recursive puzzle, I feel rather dense Embarassed , as I've indexed just about everything I can in the first box with the cartesian grid (recursive adj against see recursive, going straight across using each letter for each axis, etc..) and I'm coming up with nothing. What am I missing?

Cartesian grid (x, y pairs); the definition box is your starting point; don't overcomplicate how you use it - take the letters as they come...

this does not work gaaaah >.<

I take it back. it works. only you need to divide the thing into small things, just like all those hints said.

Exactly. In retrospect, the one hint that said something to the effect of "simply go straight" was probably the most helpful, but I was misunderstanding WHERE that applied!

It is difficult, at this point, to give you any more without outright solving it for you. The suggestion that the grid may not line up right is valid; you should see a grid where the bottom-most row and left-most column are highlighted.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Use those as your guide, and literally walk through the definition of recursive, creating x,y pairs as you go. Do not try to do anything fancy with the letters to get your pairs!

From the number of Recursion questions I knew I'd be hung up by this. It might be best if I explained why I can't even get the first box:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
From the clues given, I have tried a number of things. I've tried:

-Dividing "RECURSIVEADJ" with "SEERECURSIVE." In other words, the first letter would be (R, S). The second would be (E, E). The third would be (C, E). And so on.
-Inverting the axes. So instead of (R, S) I would have (S, R).
-Inputting "RECURSION." I chose the first letter as (R, R). The next letter as (E, E). And so on.
-Simply attempting to enter the entire thing, so "RECURSIONADJSEERECURSION." (R, R), (E, E), etc.
-Going to Google.com and entering the definition word for word, letter for letter. "Therepeatedapplicationblablabla." So (T, T). Then (H, H). And so on.

So far I have ended up with gibberish.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
-I wasn't able to understand what "go straight" meant.
-I already tried "taking the letters as they come." That's when I tried "RECURSIONADJSEERECURSION." I got nowhere.

It may require a PM if the solution is so close with the information given, but for the life of me I can't understand how to 1) use the grid or 2) get values to enter in the first box.

Seems like most of us wanted to do it the way you're thinking makes the most sense. You're really close and just plain over-thinking what it is you need to do. Simplify what you're trying and it should start producing English text in box 2. It's the most straightforward way of continuing; But, for some reason, feels wrong, at first.

It appears you meant to hit the REPLY button in this other thread rather than starting a new topic. Perhaps someone could reply over there (or merge the two -- sorry i can't be more help)

that's the best idea in this situation, imo

Okay. Almost out of patience for the day. Found eight seals today (decided it was time to get serious), solved the Theorem, and now I'm stuck fast.

Videbimus Lumen, Await the Hour, Evangelist, and Next To Nothing are the only non-date-related ones I have left to go. I'm pretty sure I have Evangelist and Next to Nothing locked down as far as how to get the solutions, but I've got to admit that both Lumen and Await have me stupefied.

This is a great site for me.

Drahcus PM'ed me and helped me out greatly.

I got stuck on the final solution but then I realized you don't even need to read very much of the Wikipedia article after hearing the clues given in this thread. I gaped at it with the expression *ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!* when I found it.

Now all I have left is "Next to Nothing." No pun intended.

EDIT: Next to Nothing done! Again, no pun intended as TMT has sapped my workday... Embarassed

THIS clue from Red Dog for anyone who was stuck on Next to Nothing is the reason I got the answer:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You're looking at the right ones, now just look at the right ones.

Off topic a little

Hey everyone I'm enjoying master theorem a lot and want to get involved in more things like it. I looked at a few sites for ARG(I think that is what it is called) but just got confused by it all

So my question is

Is there any other sites you visit that are like master theorem ( code puzzles, a bit mysterious ext. ext.)? If so what are they or where is a good place to start?

Thanks

My question to you is...

...how are you picking the letters from the names?
