After thinking about it, I bet this is just an attempt for TTA to grab everyone's attention because exposition has switched from him to Jay. He's just jealous.

I recognized that voice the moment I heard it in AdrianHD's decryption. That's Mike at the AT&T Text to Speech generator. Sample below was generated from the following script:
Quote:
Enjoying. watching. you. suffer.
Do. you. know. me.
I will always know. you.

Most parts of it are damn close to AdrianHD's upload, the few that aren't I think are a result of the different tempo/speed.

This is it, without a doubt. I can tell because of the distinct pronunciation of the word "suffer" and the way the pitch lowers at the word "you".

The whole electronic voice thing reminds me of a theory I had way back in season one:

TTA = The Operator/Slenderman/whatever you want to call him

Bear with me for a moment, and then you can ram trucks through the holes.

The Operator obviously has some sort of electronic influence on the world around him. He also seems more or less content to observe. But also seems to want something. Whether that be the Ark or...something else entirely, something is keeping him around.

Therefore his presence on youtube is part of his electronic influence. There is no actual person sitting at a computer uploading videos. TTA's videos are simply the manifestations of the Operator. The codes, the puzzles, the odd visual presentations are all byproducts of his inability to communicate effectively with humans. When he asks "Are you drowning" it's because it's a concept he doesn't quite understand given whatever apparent relationship with water he seems to have.

This relationship could also be one of conductive purposes. Rather than protection it might be quite the opposite. (I remember a lot of people talking about Tim notably drinking water. Inviting him in?) The rain with the power lines (and the goofy backwards S that never seemed to get fully explained) and now this view of some watery vision of some type.

"I will always know you." "Do you know me?" While menacing on some level could be attempts at communication, though possibly misguided.

Sidenote: Is there any evidence to suggest that Alex could be the source of visual tearing that we associate with the Operator. I mean he was holding the camera for pretty much all of season one. Could he have been closer than we thought for when we didn't see him?

Shocked Yikes, "Return" just got 10X more terrifying.

As much as I like this idea, I think it's more accurate to think of TTA as one of the Operator's servants (Warning, Exit, Admission, and Entry #### all point to a guy behind a camera). Nevertheless, the videos speak of "us" and "we", so I think it's safe to say that the messages and the weirdness therein are coming directly from the Operator. Maybe it's best to think of Tim-Masky-TTA and the Operator like the Christians think of Jesus and God. The latter is fundamentally alien and utilizes the former to communicate more effectively, albeit confusingly; yet the two are essentially one. Maybe this is why Tim doesn't seem to use his own voice for the videos?

(The "goofy backdwards S" has been identified as the Greek letter stigma. I've given my convoluted interpretation of its meaning in another thread if you're interested).

To think of "Are you drowning" as a message from the Operator is very intriguing; it provides nice continuity for the reasons you mentioned. But this still begs the question: What the hell is he trying to say?

Wow... it's surprising how much sense that makes. TTA isn't even consciously uploading these videos, it's just how the Operator interprets stuff.

I don't think so. There are several videos in season one where the video doesn't tear at all.

And that makes me think of something even weirder. There are several videos in season one where the video doesn't tear, even when the Operator is standing practically within arm's reach of the camera. 7, 11, 14... it's odd.

Actually, there's tearing in all of those videos. I know for a fact that 14 has it happen right in the beginning, it's just hard to see because it's so dark. I'm pretty sure that in entry 7 it does tear as well. 11... I don't know, actually. I'd have to re-watch it.

EDIT: Yea, 11 doesn't have any tearing, though it could've happened before the segment that Jay posted. The single visual tear seems to announce the Operator's arrival, so maybe it happened before Alex got up and started moving around.

that may just be the creator's evolution on effects. In the beginning all slenderman did was make videos not have sound, or maybe a very slight visual tear, or just amplify and mess up sound some. now its like "BRZHRHRSHRHRHRSSJJSKKJSKZJKFSSKSJKZ" for audio and video all the time. all that probably changed was troy's knowledge of sony vegas.

Quick thought about the visual aspect of the mystery that is this 12 second freak fest:

It isn't actually filmed underwater. The ripples are in sync with the audio. Watch the left side of the screen for the clearest view of this.

There does appear to be a person's head and shoulders on the right side of the screen looking down at the camera.

Yup. Cyanified and redilicious. Similar to signal but clearly not of the same source material. The filming is not nearly as crisp. Take a look at the tree in signal's definition and you'll see what I mean.
Oh yes, I understand that they aren't the same. I was just noting similarities. I think the more important part of this being similar is what trees represent to the series. (Slendy of course)

Well I would guess OOG, that is due to Troy being more comfortable with Sony Vegas, but in game, it could mean that distortion in general means proximity.

i still think TTA is not a minion to the operator. i believe the operator doesn't interact with humans at all (save for when he makes them disappear or pass out.) that's what makes him horrifying for me.

To me, TTA being the Operator would make TTA a lot scarier. But it'd also make The Operator a lot less scary. I mean, creating the videos with his mind is better than Slenderman just sitting down at a desk, but it's still too...."human" for Slenderman to be conversing with the protagonist =/
