hole in page equals cave entrance? I was looking though the "crystalinks" page connected to the Revalitic site, and noted this picture of a cave entrance to a lost city in the Grand Canyon...
for some reason the cave entrance looks a bit like that hole ripped in the page of the letter to me... There's a lot of info about that cave on that page and a mention of a G.E.Kinkaid, who supposedly discovered that entrance, an article written in 1909, things like that.... just some interesting connections, seeing that the cave is such an importance concept with TROGL and other aspects of this ARG...

... or I could just totally be going nuts because of all this ARG stuff and need another of Jane's foil hats...

Maybe it's "I'm there today"? Maybe whoever left the note coded it that way to let Josh and M know he's at a secret place both know about but couldn't say it directly in the note itself for fear that it may fall into other/wrong hands...
A hypothetical: The author of the note mentions that he's left the hospital. Maybe leaving "I'm there today" in code tells Josh and M that they can find him at the hospital.

as always, I am short on free time so :
The hand-arm shaped hole must be relevant as a breadcrumb trail, remember RSCOM8. We should probably check any matching patterns just to be sure. The dents on both sides and top of the letter look like they were made on purpose (to match words like in rscom8).
let me know if it leads to anything!

Already been discussed. Let's just leave it at that

I checked through the Moby Dick classic illustrated online and found that the last picture share too much resemblance with the hand cut-out.
Edit: I forgot to provide the whole page, sorry. Here it is. Fromhere
Re-Edit: Here what I get from overlapping the letter with that scene from Moby dick. Just for the records.

I've posted this in the revalistic thread but as it is a cross post idea....
Does anyone else think the hole and general splatter could be similar to part of an inkblot pattern like this one ?

@zort, im not too sure but i did something here thinking that maybe the ink was a test too find a watermark letting M know that it really was his letter and that the inkblot was his watermark. But it doesnt fit very well so i really dont think so. here it is anyway

I see it I have been photoshopping the bottom image and trying to figure it out. But I have to concur, the splash on the bottom of the page looks like the rorschack image. The same image they have been seeing on the revalistic webpage icon.

Does this say them or thena? have a closer look at this and compare the 'n' and 'a' from other words. It looks like he is saying 'Use thena'... It just dosent look like all the other 'm's' in the letter.
Could this be some kind of code or have I just smoked too much for lunch today?

Melodyman;
I recall when this first came out and we were trying to figure out what that word was, it didn't really look like "then" or "them."
Turn the image about 30 degrees to the left and it looks to me like the letter "Z" over the numeral "7."
Whether it is or not, I agree with it not looking like the letter "m."

Thanx Xeno.. It seems a bit odd that the author of the letter would have to tell TROGL and the rest to use the breadcrumbs he has left when that would seem obvious, no? Its probably nothing but the way its written could be cryptic like the rest of that letter seems to be.
Oh well, we keep searching for anything that can help us move this ARG snail along..

Here's another odd thing about the letter. There are all these uppercase Is where they should be - I think 8 of them. And then near the bottom there is a lowercase i where it says "but i'll have to rely on luck..."
I wonder if there is any meaning in this error.

Didn't the letter additionally state that "We left..." regarding the hospital?
Wonder who/what he's with?
And, yes, Rocket, I noticed that too--what it means?
Since a great deal of what you and your new best friend ( ), Smoky Jane, the Aluminum Foil Femme Fatale, found regarding nuclear testing, perhaps we should go waaaaaay back to the original newspaper pages on STIES re: nuclear testing, ala Kennedy/khrushchev and see if any of the recent holes in letters line up with anything important?
