it was my impression that they were going to meet someone that they thought might be jesse, maybe caesar?

another thing. does it seem like water and other solubles might refer to a watermark, i.e. stegging? not dina's way, but if she only starting learning to play music a year ago, who knows. i still think that picture has more to say in one way or another.

This is really reaching, but anyone here read Homestar Runner? The latest Halloween cartoon has Strong Sad dressed up as the lead singer of Talking Heads, and at the end, if you click on him, he acutally says 'This is not my beautiful house!' (See here: http://www.homestarrunner.com/ween03.html )

Probably nothing more than an interesting coincidence. Except that I also noticed that one of the hackers in that bighuge thread used the expression 'crap for crap', which is a typical Strongbad saying (actually used in the system sounds pack you can d/l).

Nah...

Chris.

I'd think the missing word in "...as pea soup" would be "Thick"

Especially since the rest of the post is about fog, and "Fog as thick as pea soup" is a saying....

Something about Jesse's hair is really bothering me - the pic from the CD's makes it look almost fake, the texture is all wrong for blond hair... and Dina's sketch of him also has the hair looking more prominant and more detailed than the rest of the pic.

I have no idea where that might lead us, but it's bugging me.

Didn't he already say that he had tried Murpha already and didn't get anywhere?

Not that it matters terribly, but he does say
Quote:
We can also check out the spot where I found the CD, head over to Murpha, maybe even try to track down the house.

The fact that he says this:
Quote:

Well, I've hit dead ends on every path I've tried. Murpha, King County records, nothing leads anywhere that helps at all.

to me, just means that he tried to find out about Murpha, sort of anonimously: did they ever have an employee named Ryan Emerson, etc.; it makes sense that he would do the same thing with the County records. And now they can "head over to Murpha" to see if they can speak to someone.

Re: Marcus and the Nekodas?

I've had a long think about this. How does anyone find www.thenekodas.com? It's in google, so it's easy enough to find if you're looking for 'Nekodas' ... but how do you come to look for that unusual string and URL?

How did we come to know about www.thenekodas.com (other than by sneaky looking up of domain registrations that point to a certain IP)? As far as I can tell, the only references to the name Nekodas anywhere outside of their site are in the ID3 tags of Dina's MP3s that are found elsewhere (The Picture on little boxes and This Is The Night on Wongmo's ... er, Fiona's ... or maybe Leo's ... no, it's gotta be Arnold's site Very Happy ).

So, unless Marcus had a source of info that pointed him to the Nekodas that we don't know about (inside information, or maybe a super AI-powered web-crawling data-mining program he's using to look for Avery?), or there is another link or reference to the Nekodas somewhere else that I have forgotten, Marcus (or anyone else for that matter) must have gotten there via the MP3s.

Perhaps Marcus was snooping around http://www.little-boxes.net ... he seems a little concerned about Beth based on Beth's description of their most recent discussion. Perhaps he listened to The Picture. Marcus would have known Dina if she used to be James' wife. Perhaps she was musical even then. Maybe he even recognized her voice. Then he looks at the ID3 tag, and that gets him to the Nekodas.

I'm in no way offering this as the explanation for how Marcus could find the Nekodas. I offer it as an explanation. I'm still no closer to explaining why Beth has that MP3 on little boxes ... how did she find out about the Nekodas and get that MP3 file? Now that's a real poser Confused .

Re Jesse sketch - elements of it do look wrong eg the pupils are white, not black, and the hair is over-emphasised. Is this the kind of effect you would get if you apply a 'pencil sketch'-type filter in photoshop to the original photograph... maybe she has 'created' the sketch rather than drawing it herself?

As soon as I read your post, I said to myself:

"Self, what if Marcus & AQN (aka Wongmo) (aka Leiphe) (aka Dr. Leo Kane) were the same people? Seriously Self, Marcus is out of the office alot. He has the resources to pull it off."

So I post this out there for others to ponder and discuss.

I'm pretty sure that's how it was found. Very Happy

I don't recall any other references to it.

It would stand to reason that whoever "reprogrammed" Dina and Ethan would be keeping a close eye on them. If Ormond is one of those people, then it would probably be easy for him to track their online discussions, sites, etc.
