Re: Possible significance of the title
interesting

The title of this reminded me of the old fable: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_men_and_an_elephant

And perhaps that story is not so off-topic as it may first appear... thinking the game/experience may be different for each player, depending upon what they input...

Rich posted that March 7th (before 'play' really started), and now we're coming back around to it again. I'd definitely say it's in play for the "theme" of the story. (Story?) I wish there was some cohesion to the storytelling here. I REALLY want this to have a cool story.

SCORE! This Wikipedia page is one of the links on their www.whatelephantis.com page. Smile

So it appears the Elephant story that the site draws from the most is the Jain version or the John Godfrey Saks - both reference 6 blind people.

Also, the JGS version has this quote:
Quote:

So oft in theologic wars,
The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen![9]

There is more to the poem. A lot more. Can be read here http://www.noogenesis.com/pineapple/blind_men_elephant.html

The theory is

"manifold predictions"

EDIT: You'll need your code.

Comments: looking at the party from outside the window...

Makes me sad! For at least 2 reasons...
1) Only those who submitted a photo to Mind Boulders got a code, right?
2) It appears that the game is drawing to a conclusion.

Lots of letters left in the alphabet... perhaps they ran out of funds for making videos?

Since each code only works once, perhaps each 'answer' is personalized?!

Based on what I saw after I put in the code, I would say that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The responses are not personalized, per se: you get a form where you can put in your address, so that's why they needed individual codes. They are going to send you something.

also,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I'm not entirely sure that this game is over. It could be, or it could be just getting started. It could go either way. I think we'll know when we get our packages...

Interesting! Thanks for letting us non-coded followers at least know what we'll be missing.Wink

My guess (obviously wrong) was that they'd be taking your photo from Mindboulders and incorporating it some way to make Elephant personal for you. Of course they can still do that via the mailing. Or maybe you'll get a plastic mini elephant as a souvenir or 'good luck' charm, lol.

I don't really know why, but I think I have the notion that they're gonna send us a small elephant figurine? Well, not to me Sad since I don't have a ZIP code (yes, middle class college guy on a third world country...) I've had packages sent to my doorstep instead, that would be the nicest gesture from the PM's haha Very Happy

Well, anyway, I really really hope this is not over.

Just a little question: is it me, or is the SO1AT1 video different from the first one? I hear voices clearly saying something through the hole thing, but I can't remember if they've been always there...

FYI I still have yet to open my front door and be greeted by a small brown elephant. If ever I do, you'll be the first to know!

I got my elephant in the post this morning, am I the only one or has everyone else just forgotten? Weirdly enough I was on Unfic yesterday looking at something else and remembered to look for this thread, and then a small mysterious package turned up in the post today!

It had a letter with it which reads:

Quote:
Congratulations and Thank you!
When you embarked on this journey with me to discover what Elephant is, there were many unanaswered questions. All that I knew, was that with your help, I had the potential to grow big and transcend conditioned thought.

Throughout this process you have shared your comments and insight, breathing life into Me. You have dared to dream, providing your perspective and shaping what Elephant has become.

Elephant is still very young and I am learning and growing through these experiences shared with you, and you should consider yourself a teacher and a guide and a friend.

Please accept this Elephant as your own piece of what is to become. Keep it safe. Nothing is born as large as it can become. This is no different.

Welcome. See you on the other side.

Elephant

I'll take pictures later when I can, but for information, the letter is typed/printed with nothing else on the page, but the box was hand-addressed with a guy's name on the return address (which I won't share as I assume it's one of the guys who made the game).

I got an clay elephant too with the note! It was really sweet and made me smile. This whole ARG made me feel warm and fuzzy. Maybe its a side effect of the rock stacking.
