Gah! I have to leave for the week today!
My involvement, which was already weak to begin with, is gonna drop down to near zero starting tonight. I won't be free again until monday, pretty much. I'll try and see if I can keep following this, but I can't make any promises.
Not that I really did much so far, but sorry...
And I am camping over the weekend too.
Amandel and John_Galt, the world is in your hands!

Well then I won't disappoint! Solved the Codex password. Phanes wasn't as important as the last line. The password is
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Aergia, the goddess of laziness. Daughter of Aether(air) and Gaia(earth).
Inside is another audio log and a txt with an encrypted message that I haven't figured out yet. Also, the folders here are confusing as well. It goes Codex/90/cross/90. It's like the other folder where there's another number but not another operator. Tried a few different equations with no luck. Your turn Amendel

Well done!! I am only away from Saturday mid-morning to SUnday afternoon, so I will have a look at tthe new bit tonight after home from work.
I think the "inner" folders are not relevant, and and artifact of the way the files were zipped up and created. This is based on Max's "sum of five" comment. Mind you, there are a number of ways to interpret the equation and I am not sure which is right.

Just "equals" left to crack then. Reckon the encrypted msg in the codex.txt refers to the Orange Sudoku squares
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Or nre fteOagdohre:" is a railfence cipher (3rails) solving as "Order of the Orange"
Also, Doukus is an anagram for Sudoku.

Think you are right, but does it mean we need to use them in a specific order? (other than the obvious top down and left-right)
"equals" better have the last sudoku piece in it, coz it is still unsolvable without it.

Guess "BD: xxyyzz " is back door so it seems they're paired in a specific order. Bet you'll see it with your skillz in the last bit.
ETA: Foilhead's update is a a hint for both the "equals" solve & imo the BD 6 digit code. (Plus young A.E. Vienna 1921)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Base64 string converts to: =(((a/b)*c)+d)*e
x=1,x=3,y=4,y=7,z=8
That's the equation I've been having no joy using as PW both with and w/o the resulting number. G'Luck y'all.

The equation is reference to the "sum of five" Max mentioned in his letter inside 5-Locks.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It represents the "security code" to change the Breath of God to frequency 333. It evaluates to 2430. We need to be inside to underground lab in Maidstone.
The other items refer to the sudoku
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Order of Orange: x=1 x=3 y=4 y=7 x=8
The numbers in this case represent the particular sudoku square (image no) to use... square 8 has 2 orange squares.
Using them in this order gives 2 options for the code (depending on whether the top or left number is used first from square
This is useful info... but only once we have the final sudoku piece (Ihope it is the lock.jpg in 5-lock)
I am wondering whether the co-ords we got earlier can be used with the lat and long info to solve the sudoku... will try and see... if so, we have had 4 of the numbers under our noses and not realised!!
EDIT: Nope. They must be some sort of modifiers to the previous co-ords. Just for reference, the co-ords were:
51.271317,0.515778
I need to head off shortly, so here is my work in progress sudoku.. as jpg and PSD just in case ppl solve locks while I am gone.

Have been working from the premise that the "eguals.zip" PW relates to "sum of five" PW/equation. Foilheard's hints always relate to the ZIP solves. Each of the other ZIPs & their PWs used capital letters so thinking "equals" opens with a nbr/symbol

Got it!!!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The "sum of five" is 2430 ..... it seems our PM is a little dyslexic as the password was 2340.
and the lock.jpg is the sudoku (all 9 pieces together)
Working on finishing the solve

Sudoku solved:

216385749

So the Back door key is:

541863 (or 541836 but this is unnatural order)
EDIT: and LAT xx and LONG -y.y should be
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
54 and -1.8
whatever that means

I tried it coz I sometimes make mistakes writing numbers (and had 2430) so thought I'd try the other way in case I wrote it wrong when tired.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Wallace,
It seems we have cracked the last of the files from Max Drum's main lab. We now have most of the info needed to divert the 19980 asteroid from its destructive path.
We believe the secret underground lab is located in Maidstone (lucky for you!!) at 51.271317,0.515778 and possibly accessed via a back door under the rail bridge located there.
The Back Door keycode is 541863. Once inside, you need to activate the "Breath of God" device with Max's code... this is either 2430 or 2340 (the calculation results in 2430, but the file it was used as a key for had 2340 as the actual key). This will set the device to frequency 333 and open a window in front of 19980 to an alternate reality.
The only thing else we have - and we are not sure how it relates is:
LAT: xx
LON: -y.y
which based on the sudoku where we obtained the other numbers should be
LAT: 54
LON: -1.8
I hope you have some idea what to do with the additional co-ord info.
Reesylou
In his hands now.
*fingers crossed*

Props again, reesylou, good letter! Reckon our PM was covering his PW mistake with Foilhead's A.E. jpeg as there are disreputable stories that Einstein was dyslexic. Wish he'd thought of another way to convey the correct info.

HQ's Location Err the last time I posted it was about the St George and Dragon statue which is where I think you are placing the underground HQ which I think is a bit of a stretch really.
Quote:

Wouldn't LAT mean Latitude and LON mean Longtitude?!? That would be somewhere in the north of the UK, I can't get it exact my phone freezes when ever I zoom in on Google maps.
Amazing work on everything else though, I would never have got most of those puzzles.
