I honestly think we blew their launch by jumping on this too quick. The LinkedIn ad that started this was gone very quickly. So was the "Company" site for CAH. (That doesn't mean it was flagged by someone else for deletion.)

OK - so this is totally off topic and I don't know if it matters, but...
I know people from Democracy In Action or who have worked with them. They are a technology company that wires up progressive groups across the country. So if you have some land use issue in your community you may hire them to set up an "email your congressperson" campaign. Or click to send a fax, that sort of thing. Like I said before - I don't like to mix politics and ARGs. But in my real life - I'm an actual"agent", really a research analyst that gathers financial analysis and power structure and corporate ownership analysis for the progressive movement. In the corporate world its called Competitive Intelligence - if you google the Strategic and Corporate Intelligence Professionals website it'll make more sense. Although some people derisively call this job corporate espionage, but I assure you its not that. Way more boring and totally not illegal. But Its some ways it's almost exactly like playing an ARG for a living (as in I find internal newsletters or non-published white papers etc often as non-protected PDFs on company websites by link guessing and other stuff.) Almost like a bank AML analyst doing "Know Your Customer" research - its like one big scattered puzzle that usually starts on the web and often ends up in field work (ie the live game.) So I guess that's why I find this all so fascinating. Like it could be an actual recruiting tool. Rather than a movie or game or something commercial like that. Hey progressive Puppet Master! Are you listening? I've been in the progressive research business for 10 years and there's no group you want hire from more than very skilled ARG players. I've actually been telling colleagues that for the last few years...maybe someone finally took it seriously. I mean, this is all just a totally wild theory of mine. But I'm going to slink off and stop over thinking this and just see where the game play leads. And if the off topic pontificating is totally inappropriate and should be moved to the meta section - the mods should totally delete this.

* enaxor * backs away slowly and quickly changes channel to Fox News for the rest of the day. Razz I agree with "I don't like to mix politics and ARGS. I play ARGS to escape all the crap.

Oh yeah just to be clear, In the first post of this thread I said I was surfing for jobs on LinkedIn when I found the job ad in question - I was actually looking for THAT job from the rabbit hole posting. HA! This game has a whole art imitates life imitates art thing going on for me.

But no I don't like mixing fake ARG life and real life at all but a lot of the reason I play ARGs when work is slow is skill practice new techniques and theories. When I first read about ARGs a couple years ago - I was like awesome! Now I can work for fun too!

I can understand that, I use several of the tricks I learned by playing ARGS, to check out businesses/people before I hire them or sign up for their services.

Wow - your job sounds awesome... and to go back to topic - they should have anticipated it if they put PR out - I try to stick to the "trail' so to speak, but people have been "ARGing" for so long that you should anticipate certain actions.... -

Yeah I seriously think that we just started looking and jumped their pregame stuff...a bunch of the sites that were dug up were still all Lorum Ipsum or whatever...

The major curtain pull was probably just a nod to say "yeah, you totally got all rabid on this way faster than we really expected." But the reference to that "old show LOST" was pretty funny. Although they didn't confirm that the masked leader of DWWF is Margaret Cho.

Annoyingly, the CAH was the one organization I definitely did NOT apply for a job with.
...

I think if you put your email anywhere in any of the game sites, you'll get this today. Which doesn't make a lot of in-game sense, but let's see how it pans out.

I signed up for info on the www.America2049.com site several days ago, and added the same email to the Good Day Everyday subscription yesterday. Other than an email asking me to confirm that I did add my email to the America2049 site, I haven't received anything in-game. No offer of a job with the CAH.

So I went looking through sequential Zooglio pages and found a few pages that I don't think they want up quite yet. There was a bunch of sort of "background" news, but I stumbled across a few things that looks to be serious plot points...

I think I found the in-game identity of M...

...As well as (what might be) their endgame.

These may or may not turn out to be big parts of the game, so I'd really suggest not visiting the pages if you don't want to know.

EDIT: I think from now on I'm just going to follow the "official" storyline, it doesn't seem to look like they're going to go out of their way to hide stuff that we're meant to find.

Up-thread someone (thebruce ?) posted that Democracy in Action and Restore Fairness sites were linked to tracking in the email? These are real organizations, any associated with entertainment stuff. So best disregard them as OOG.

Does anyone know if they delayed the launch time? I got on the site in time to watch it count down to zero, but nothing happened. When I refreshed the page, the count started over at 12 hours. I've never played an ARG, but I assumed something would happen on the main site. Was that naive of me?

Yep, from an OOG source I heard it had to be pushed back a day.
