As opposed to Jay tweeting how lonely his was? Crying or Very sad

See, Jay's tweet was really effective to convey character and atmosphere.

In that he broke all of our little hearts. :c

In any case: Marble Hornets all the way. Could never get into TribeTwelve, but to be fair, I only watched the first couple of videos. I stopped because they were making me laugh rather than scream. Hmmm.

definitely MH. I would even prefer EverymanHYBRID over TT. Mostly, just how much it rips off MH.

I will admit, to begin with I only watched the first few videos (and recoiled at the terrible acting), but then I started skipping around the series and just stopped watching altogether when I found the copies (namely, the Operator signal, visual tearing, self-recording, Noah being a referance to totheark).

What I like about EverymanHYBRID is that it actually makes a direct note of the characters trying to intereact with Slender Man. In Marble Hornets, mostly all you get is "something weird is going on here" or "I don't like this." The only time a character speaks about it is Jay to Tim in #15.

What I hate the most about TT and EMH is the stuff in some of their entries that's just totally irrelevant to the series, like Noah's Thanksgiving dinner/Wii Sports entry? And the ten minute walk in the park entry from EMH. I mean, MH has some filler, and a few entries where not much happens, but it always maintains the creepy/suspenseful atmosphere.

Yeah, i feel the same way in that there is just too much filler in both EMH and TT that is irrelevant and even relevant at some points that are just too far drug out (noah's circle cursing bush stabbing adventure around the exterior of his house)

I'll just say this: Swearing to me is as natural as breathing. Regardless of what other people think of it, I use it often for emphasis, sometimes without even thinking.

It would be PERFECTLY natural and normal for me to say "f--k" (and some rather creative combinations with that word) quite a few times if I was ever in a horror situation.

This I agree with. This aspect of TT doesn't bother me at all; I wouldn't mind if Marble Hornets wasn't so "clean", too.

Lol, I love how this is my first post.>.> But I just finished watching TribeTwelve, finally.

I prefer MH, hands down. The first videos of TT just seemed way too much like MH, and the later ones, while interesting, don't give me the creeps the way MH videos do. The only thing in TT that really sets me on edge is the audio distortion and that's only because any and all audio distortion will most likely make me jump. But TT just doesn't freak me out, other than the audio distortion and a bit in the last video. And that's saying something considering I'm incredibly paranoid and have anxiety issues and it isn't hard to scare me.

I'm not saying TT is bad, I think his editing is really good and it's gradually getting better, but MH is much better in my mind.

Also agreeing with Zarg about swearing. I'm the same way.>>

Re: Marble Hornets vs. TribeTwelve
Which do you prefer?

This is tough, both TT and MH are really good.

I like TT's slender man better, more sightings (not overkill) creepier views of him, and he gives a feeling of crazy paranoia.

Overall though, I like MH better, its just got good ups and downs (tension-wise) in the story.

In EMH the park video does prove to be significant. Later hidden videos and other events point back to that day. Something could have happened there that we are not fully aware of or the park itself is a significant location. With that, I don't tend to see the Day in the Life video as filler.

With EMH, everything has a bit of significance. There really doesn't seem to be any filler.

I really, really enjoyed how Day in the Life, at the time, was all "LALALALA INNOCENT FUN YAY" turned into "....WHAT HAPPENED"?!?!?!

A Day with Green Feathers is completely filler, minus the final 30 seconds. Though to be fair I guess it was meant to be sort of a meet up, and only one guy showed up.

*looks at thread name* oh. whoops.

tribe twelve's lack of updates can be annoying (footage from thanksgiving being uploaded in february, for example), but that doesn't necessarily break the series, it's just bad for momentum i guess. marble hornets going with a new video every 2 weeks or so is just enough time to keep everything fresh. tribe twelve can be much more sporadic: 2 entries this week, wait 3 weeks, 3 in two weeks, nothing but a couple tweets for a month and a half, etc.

it's a little like when ABC gave Lost a really crappy timeline to release episodes or something. I'm not exactly sure what went down, I just remember one season having like 19 episodes to be shown over 30 weeks or something. that fact alone doesn't mean lost wasn't the best show on television, it was just a minor annoyance for me.

Yeah. Call me a prude, but in my house, you only drop F-bombs if you're serious. Noah's constant cluster F-bombs for no particular reason just make me cringe.

I don't mind the cursing at all, because like others, I curse often also. heh. It seems pretty natural, if you're going through the things Noah is, to talk like that. I just like how MH doesn't because it sounds more...refined? Dunno if that's the word I'm looking for exactly, but I'm sure you guys know what I mean. >_>

I could do without the F-Bombs. First I think there are better ways to express yourself. (Prude side just showed Embarassed ) and I have kids. Sometimes my only time to watch any of the Slendy shows is when they are watching TV but they do hear it.

Have to agree but not for prudish reasons. It just seems really forced to me in TT.
