The photo on the left page of the book (in the back of the water tower model on the desk) is that of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning.

Compare these two screenshots on main street(?)
on the one at night there is clearly a water tower (?) visible over S&A Food
In the daytime one there is not. Probably just a production error.

Smalle pic is just a funny Lost reference I found.

Excellent Excellent Excellent FIND! That water tower is definitely KEY. That is too large of an error to be simple production error. Is the debris in the night shot perhaps being attracted in the direction of the water tower? That would make sense since the object that flew out of josh's room also shot to the water tower. Hmmmm I think this could be a major plot hint... Good find man!

i didnt know if you were right at first because the angles are different, until i checked at a different angle. Take a look. This proves you are right

Maybe those red trucks were here to build the water tower. It could even contain something else, to help collect the cube things which is why when the kids had one of them, it shot off towards the water tower

Am I the only one who sees something that looks like an alien hand on one of the photos on the montage up above?! It's one of the last photos in it, it definitely looks like a hand, maybe it's the creature?!
