Yes, thanks for clarifying, I was hesitant to do so. But yeah, my point is if sidetone describes a way someone connects to themselves, then Totheark calling Alex's phone would suggest totheark is Alex. JUST A THOUGHT. I'm totally neutral.

No, my point was that if if Sidetone was about someone connecting with themselves, then it definitely means Alex isn't TTA since whomever called didn't reach Alex on the phone, they got sent to voicemail and therefore didn't connect with anyone. Unless you're suggesting Alex = Alex's voicemail = TTA.

 		No...Alex was calling his own voice mail. Obviously he can't call himself. But he's calling his phone. And since sidetone is a phrase meaning literally "to connect to your own phone", we can assume totheark is alex. Get it?

I don't believe TTA is Alex. I think it would be kind of a lame move from a story point of view (I'M THE WRITER, DIRECTOR, CREATOR, ONE OF THE MAIN PROTAGONISTS AND I'M AN ANTAGONIST!!! LULZ!) and I think it much too simplistic a take on a character who is anything but simple. TTA is a complex sort of character -- he creates these videos with all of these complicated elements and things hidden inside these complicated elements and I don't think that EVERY video (like some people think) is saying "I'm TTA if you can just see this clue!". I think the answer, much like the established character is complicated and probably can be put together from taking various clues from various videos and putting them together just so -- again, something that when put down in text seems simple but really is complicated (damn near impossible I'd think) and daunting.

 		Are we forgetting that the latest few videos point pretty clearly to Hoody being TTA and Alex in no way being Hoody? Maybe there's more going on that just that.

After all, a person and their phone, despite how it seems lately, are not the same entity. Maybe sidetone was intended to show Jay that Alex is (dead? missing? in TTA's clutches?) and TTA now has control of Alex's phone, and perhaps, life and/or memories.

It's an idea that doesn't lead back to Alex being TTA, since we've just finally started moving away from that.

That's not actually what sidetone is, at least not in the way you're taking it to mean. It's actually feedback from the earpiece to the mouthpiece.

For starters, it's that sound when you turn the phone on that lets you know the phone does, in fact, work. You don't necessarily have to call anyone to hear it. Secondly, it indicates that the phone is working, nothing else. In the context of the Sidetone video, I'm taking it to mean, "yeah Jay, your messages are getting through, but there's nobody there to hear you."

Did anyone continue with the "there should be a phone number here" idea? I really loved the idea that there would be a number to call.

 		^Doubtful. Film students don't exactly have the money to set up a phone number just to call for something like this.
