Trailhead? Musings of an Enigma Received this about an hour ago in my email:
Subject: The Divine Suicide of K.
From: NotTelling (theenigmaticwriterSPLAT gmail.com)
Hello, friends!
I know of something rather...significant going on in another world - a world quite like yours, yet in many ways different. This happening of significance is rather intriguing - it is almost like one giant puzzle, waiting to be solved. It came to my attention that this little gathering of people you have rather enjoy, and more often than not, are rather good when it comes to solving puzzles, so naturally, thought who else to tell?
If you wish to know more, then feel free to visit my blog:
theenigmaticwriter.blogspot.com.
Yours until the pen breaks,
The Enigmatic Writer.
The Blog:
A Challenge, if you wish to accept it...
As you are aware, somewhere in another dimension there is something of great significance going on. I could simply tell you what it is, but i'm rather bored, so instead I shall offer you a challenge.
The rules are quite simple. At the minute, you know nothing, and I know everything. No doubt you wish to change this so that you at least know something. So, I will present you with various challenges - riddles, if you will, and if you pass, then I divulge some information.
So, your first challenge:
They came like a missile that follows, tearing all asunder
Shaking the world all the night
Arrived they did as if striking like thunder
And lightning and fire and dynamite
Answers on a (virtual) postcard, please.
I wish you luck, my Friends.
Yours so long as the pen still has ink,
The Writer.
Not sure if I will have the time to devote to an ARG currently...so have at....

Got this too. I was thinking earlier this week that it has been a while since I posted my contact details here and then getting nothing. In a few days I have three invites and I'm not sure what to do

A little digging with some key words and I came up with Kiss - When Lightning Strikes.

... Need to check my e-mail, but doubtful if I actually got this...
Nonetheless, I'm in... This seems quite interesting..
How are we to respond? E-mail? And with what?
snorkle256 "got" the answer.... or at least part of it....
Do we respond with "Kiss - When Lightning Strikes" in an e-mail?

Because of the wording of the riddle, it appears that the "answer" might just be Kiss. Makes you wonder about the email subject..."The Divine suicide of K.".......I just we should probably send a virtual post card with Kiss on it, I guess someone could try the full song title too, just to see what happens.
EDIT: Geez! I thought it would be simple to find a KISS themed postcard. Apparently the band offered one sometime ago, but it no long works. I guess a cheesy valentine animated kissy postcard would be rather funny to send.

I haven't played in a while. I'm gonna join on the fun.
I see the similarities with that Kiss song. But I see dissimilarities too. In the first line "missile that follows" refers to an ICBM. Nothing like that in the Kiss song.
BUT, a "kiss" is something that you would definitely send in a virtual postcard.

... You can't seriously mean... virtual... postcard?
Like those incredibly stupid e-cards my parents used to send me every birthday?

How do we know we have the correct answer, Writer?
And are we to answer in the form of a question?

You are purely to send me the answer I seek, and you know you have the correct answer when I give you the information.

I got this, this morning, too.
I'm thinking it literally is a riddle as in there's not a simple answer such as "Kiss"
I'll do a little more digging and see what I come up with.
Edit: The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

Already sending off an email as follows.
Quote:

I am wondering, are you referencing The Tunguska event??
-Leyton D. Stone.
Annnnd I'm already getting a response...
Quote:
Alas, no, I am not. I am not referencing a when, a what, a where, a how, but rather a who.
Hell's Bells, i've managed to stump you on this one, haven't I?
Yours until I get writers' cramp,
The Enigmatic Writer.
Sooo....
I've sent this then instead.
Quote:
Possibly then - The 4 Horsemen?
(Non)-Educated guess on that one.

That may be it. I was looking at his response to Leyton, and he says "Hell's Bell's" and a google search immediatly brought up AC/DC.
