Any vancouverians who can comment on the location? If not by tomorrow, then let's do it.

I know few are coming and perhaps you will all have wheels, but let's coordinate to ensure nobody is left ride-less.

If I can find Stewart or Caterina on flickr, I will ask them about it. We have a car, but since we're getting into Seattle so late on Thursday now, we aren't picking it up until friday morning.

They keep changing the flight times, so it may change again before we actually go. Rolling Eyes

Well, it is official. "We regret to inform you that Mr. Enigma will be unable to attend this year's Super Duper ARG-o-Rama."

I am going to be moving across town that month and between the hassle of moving and the cost of effectively paying double-rent after expenses get added up make it a very bad time for me to do any traveling.

On a related note, sure it is a little out of the way, but if anyone wants to stop by Portland on the way to/from the fest, I would be up for some local drinkering and mini-festing.

I never got the chance to chat with anyone in Vancouver about the hotel but I went ahead and made my reservations. It's the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in North Vancouver. I checked some of the travel sites and definitely got better rates by going to them directly.

As of now, Curtis is going to Vancouver, but we all know that that could change by tomorrow. Wink

Hint:

The Entertainment books are now $9.99 with $5 for shipping since they expire in November. There's one for Vancouver - but all books (you oughta buy the one for the area you currently live in) have a moderately large list of hotels with deep cuts in the rates of hotels in Vancouver and all over north America if you can present the card that's enclosed in the book.

Well worth the total cost of about $15 that you'll spend on it.

I used to work for the Holiday Inn in Westbank and if we ever had someone traveling on to Van that day or soon, this was the hotel we recommended. Very nice!! Have fun!

So... checking over the topic thread - correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the only ones going are Mart, GW (and Curtis), and AD? It's actually looking like I'll be able to attend, but not sure if I want to lay out the cash if there's only gonna be 5?

And GreyWyvern. I think there are two others local to the BC area.Grumpy is in BC, and one other (darn my swiss cheese memory), Plus Tien-Le(?) and a few others from the Washington/Oregon Area, IIRC.

Yeah, I can't go. I'm kinda over Vancouver and can't afford the expense. Could maybe hook up at the airport or something for coffee.

"Planning"

Since we are a group of diverse interests, little is planned. But FYI for anyone who might want to find us.

We're at the North Vancouver Holiday Inn.

Drinks/meet Friday in the hotel bar; probably go to dinner after but no idea where - Commercial Drive (diverse ethnic); Gastown (historic/entertaining 'hood); Chinatown; Grouse Mountain (gondola and restaurants)?

Orca watching Sunday morning-early afternoon. Reservations recommended, I have signed up 5 of us. If anyone else wants in, speak up now!

Say hello to Grumpyboy and Slyfox (I think that was the other person there, unless it was Saucycat) for me. Hug all around. *sniff*
