On Gmaps if you start at Panaca and head west towards Rachel, stop at the dark foot looking thing, and look to the left. There is a road called Seamen Wash Road. That doesn't help whatsoever, but what an awesome name for a road.

A new topic has been started as to what the arrows might actually have been pointing at. I am just going to put this here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=31918

This was all I could find about what's inside, doesn't give us much (unless someone here can make something of it)

Quote:
After the short ceremony attended by state dignataries and movie stars as well, the official highway sign and a blue ET time capsule with stone monument were unveiled. Many famous guests donated pre-planned items to the time capsule including previews and props from the upcoming movie, books of art and culture, pages from Mr. Spiner's upcoming Star Trek movie script (we couldn't even bribe him to let us take a peek at them first. Hope they don't have to re-shoot that scene... Smile, and even models of stealth bombers from the Governor to commemorate the "other" earthbased types of aircraft suposedly sighted in the area. Lt Gov. Hammargren, in his Las Vegas tourism promotion mode, contributed a "universal gaming chip" for use in Las Vegas casinos by any E.T. who may discover the time capsule.

Compare this with what your friend says. Didn't really see anything helpful here.

mach1monorail - when I put those coordinates in google earth I just got a spot on highway 318 running through flat ground. I couldn't find a sign.

It's not right on the marker, it's 300-500 ft north of it. If you place the orange guy right on the marker and "travel" on the road about 3 or 4 clicks north, it's on the east side of the road.

Numbers numbers everywhere

Did we ever determine that the numbers on the last map led to anywhere?

So we have 11.89 (or 91.89/71.89) and 12.68 1st map and 75.125 and 04.2 2nd map.

Maybe these will be part of a cryptographic system? Comic will have shaded clues?

Throw in the caps from the website ..the spelling errors in the chat session AND BOY WE REALLY HAVE SOMETHING HERE Screwy One time pad anyone?

heh...sorry.. I uhh got too excited there. Foily!

I just hope they won't be handed on a silver plate this time.. maybe it will take longer then 2 minutes to decipher the clues...maybe Rolling Eyes

Jane - I was thinking some kind of one time pad / book cipher puzzle too - with Moby Dick as the book. I can't even begin to remember all the possible words and numbers we already have. If we need page number, line, word, and letter indicators there's no telling what could be clues - especially if they involve multi-layered codes of some sort. Confused

I was thinking along those lines as well. It may mean that we will have to go back to the beginning of the ARG and record the numbers as they came up chronologically. Yikes!

My thinking about the numbers is:

They're the coordinates Josh has derived from whatever coded materials Mysterio has provided, to be used on the maps. Note that there are handwritten vertical and horizontal lines on the map, where they intersect is the "X" location: FFSH or Little Ale' Inn. I think it's part of the Mysterio/Josh/Sarah story, but not something the ARG players are necessarily supposed to decrypt.

Thinking about these words: use the comic and my notes to decode it.

Wonder if the notes are supposed to be the notes in the Braegen14 file. Maybe the numbers that correspond with the notes can be used with the Moby Dick comic to decode a message. Just a thought.

Guess I'll check out the Braegen14 thread again - all 50 something pages. Rolling Eyes

Notes...

If they were confirmed to be the golden ratio, then that be the key.

How is the golden ration applicable to the comic?

How is it related to Dali's The Sacrament of the Last Supper, the clock cycle of brain waves, or in the organization of the sections in the music of Debussy's Reflets dans l'eau (Reflections in Water)?

And yet wikipedia, and numerous other cites state that it is.

How, and or "if", it applies to the comic(s) in question has yet to be seen, and "how" really is the question on all our minds as to nearly every clue we've found and it's possible link to others.

But perhaps the most pertinent question is "why" do these clues link, if in fact they do. Bang Head

So far, what remains to be useful/unknown is EXPCNV and maybe a few other things. Other than that, I think the story has finally filled in the info.

Entrance to Area 51

http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/14034903.jpg

This looks a lot like the drawing on the map. I found it in google earth in Rachel Nv. I also found some old mines there. Go and check it out.
{edit}
I'm sure the location is Rachel. I found this marker and it cleverly uses the word vitus. Razz
