After playing with the audio for a bit, I'm convinced that there are voices in the not-quite-silence at the beginning. Can't make anything out though as if I amplify it I can hear more of the song.

Do the tones at the start of the video remind anyone of Morse code?

Have these two items been resolved yet? There is definitely sped-up morse code in the first few seconds, and a slowed voice.

We're in downtime mode, so a little spit balling does us all some good. You'd be amazed what kind of awesomely useful things come out of such moments.

SPEAKING OF BEING OFF-TOPIC (and yes, I know we just got this thread back on actual progress, I promise I'll stop after this one little comment)... I've never actually scanned your userpic before, but I suddenly got interested and used my phone, and the power went out right when I read it. Never sleeping again. Shocked

BACK ON TOPIC: I tried to muddle through the morse, but I'm not very familiar with it so it's pretty unsuccessful so far. I'll play around with the audio for the voices too. Anyone having better luck?

Edited for spelling mistake. Smile

This might explain why he's willing just to go back to the same motel he was at before. He's resigned himself to the fact he'll be stalked regardless.

We don't know that he's going back to the hotel. He's going back to 'where he was,' but that probably means wherever he's been bedding down since leaving the hotel. He hasn't kept us in the loop on that. Our boy has trust issues, go fig.

Also, for the "How's he going to get there if he doesn't know where 'there' is?" folks, he didn't know where he was when he woke up at the hotel, but we need to assume that at some point after leaving the hotel, he'd have seen highway markers, road signs, "You Are Leaving MaskyTown USA" billboards, or something. Even if he'd determined not to think about where the hotel was, he'd notice where he was driving upon leaving it.

Maybe not telling us is part of laying low, or maybe he's had bigger tapes to fry.

ETA: Or maybe I misread and you just mean wherever he was bedded down before, and I need coffee and/or reading comprehension. Smile

He was taken to a ghost town, he'll go back and not have any idea why it's totally abandoned and run down.

Merged video

It seems like the static at the bottom is part of an entirely different video. The Operator appearance at :51 may be part of that video, because the static seems to track with the Operator film.

Hello, I'm new here (shy newbie is shy) >.>
I've been sifting through the past 45 or so pages, and I don't think this was mentioned:
The date of Entry #26, right when Slender Man attacks, is 4/04/10 at 4:04 pm.
So I guess it's safe to say that four is definitely a significant piece of this puzzle.

4/4 seems to be Alex's birthday. Unless he's an otaku, I don't think the fact that 'four' and 'death' are quasi-homonyms in various Asian languages is anything more than a nifty coincidence. We just don't have any reason to read it in there.

I could make a fine case for the significance of the D-Day reference, what with 9 being a trinity of trinities and a number of great symbolic importance, but it probably comes down to the repetition: 6/6/44 9:99.

What was the percentage you sped this up? I'll try to mimic it in Final Cut to see how the video looks.

I originally just sped it up to the speed that sounded the best (I'm not good at sound stuff) so here's a new file that I am absolutely sure is sped up 25%.

It sounds like a drunk Tim. Laughing

Well, in Entry 26, the Operator not only appears on 4/4, but at the time 4:04. I think the 4's must have been chosen for some reason and the "Four is Death" thing would fit.

I just realized that, if they ever made a Marble Hornets-themed song of sorts, I wouldn't like it. See, it'd be entirely in 4/4, and probably 4 minutes long. Though if I'm lucky, they'd take the other route and make it 44 minutes long and in every possibly variation of 4/4. It'd also have four movements.

..yeah, I'm done; go ahead and scold me for being so very terribly off-topic.

On-topic, I'm personally expecting a real Entry 37 up soon, while "enttry" will just be like #####, not affecting the official entry numbers.

The song can be in the key of E, for it's 4 sharps! Or maybe the key of Ab.

And everyone who listened to it would die O.o
Or be stalked by Slender man =D
Then die. . . O.o

Pardon me for not wanting to look through all 48 pages of this thread but...

Somebody tried to tell Jay that this video was put up, right?

Yes. And no response as far as I'm aware.

I did. No answer. I'm sure others did too but he doesn't typically respond to many people. Besides,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if the plot requires that he doesn't know about it yet, he's just going to disregard that stuff for now.
