I couldn't resist asking Paramount UK via twitter what the reason is for needing to wait 8 weeks.

Me: I'm down on my knees looking up at you with puppy dog eyes.Please explain the @Super8Movie release date. We will get spoiled Sad

@ParamountUK: #Super8 is at cinemas everywhere in the UK on August 5.

OK, that's one way to dodge a bullet. I could tell I was going to need more than 140 characters to get the answer I was looking for...

Me: thanks for replying, but yes, I know the UK release date. J.J. wants his audience to watch the film not knowing what to expect. How are we meant to avoid spoilers for 8 weeks? For a film that is being marketed on mystery, it really doesn't make sense. I would like to know the reason why the UK has to wait so long before we are able to watch it?

@ParamountUK: We can't wait for it to be in UK cinemas either. Trailer looks great.
