It's like he can read my mind! Wink

I asked him about postage too, as I'm in England.

As stated before, he told me:

As for the painting, yes, she is weeping blood (no, that never really happened. LOL). I feel it represents the pain my sister was going through at the time. The doll was a thrift store find; actually I'm pretty sure it was hand made, because the feet were messed up like that when Reggie got her.

I have heard that Junji Ito is great, though I have only read one of his stories. At least I believe it was by him. It was The Enigma at Amigara Fault. I found that one quite creepy, and would like to read more of his work.

Yes, the painting isn't signed; it was one of my early ones when I was just hobby-painting. It didn't occur to me to sign it at the time, and I feel like signing it now would be a bit of a defacement.

Also, is anyone else getting the smiley face at the end of this entry as a wingding smiley face? http://www.theabandonedwindmill.com/maryland.html

He says that it shows up fine on his end, but it doesn't for me?

Also, I mentioned he should put up a comments section and he told me it was a great idea, so maybe we can catch any Non-UF players. We'll see.

I see it as a smiley face too. A little odd that he changed the font just for a smile though.

It's really operating system/web browser dependent. Most likely it shows up fine on his side because it doesn't affect him - no big deal really.. It had caught my eye right away as well but dismissed it as soon as I realized it was just a smiley in wingdings. (Most notably, wingdings won't show up in Firefox but they do in Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari - unsure about Opera). Anyhow completely off-topic observation Smile

Ooo... this is getting good!

I can't wait to receive my business card! Maybe there's a code or a clue on it or something!

If this guy did commissions I'd totally order one.

Nothing puzzle-y, but he added a comment section!

Not necessarily... if the floor has the same markings as the drawing, it could very well be that the floor is sealed as well - thus leading to an actual cellar?

EDIT: I love that the comment system has an RSS feed - makes my life so much easier Wink - anyhow I am "Elliott" on the comments (that's my real name)

I'm Trina, also my real name and the one I've been corresponding with Tom with. And though his signature doesn't show up on his own screen, it does for us, since 'someone' obviously made it wingdings.. hm..

jsyk, I'm drakiame or Samantha on his comments- I'm on uF, I just don't post much b/c I'm not much of a puzzle solver.

We've emailed back and forth a couple of times, but I'll share anything that might be important when/if I get it.

My regular browser is Chrome and it shows up as wingdings there but if I check it in Firefox on any of my computers (I have 4 in front of me - work as a programmer) then it displays a smiley on all of those. He's also using Microsoft Office to create his blog posts (made obvious by "MsoNormal") so it really could just be a weird artefact from using Office...

I emailed Pickman with some last minute pictures and some questions about dreams. We'll see what comes of it... I wonder what crazy guy is messing with Pickman, though...

he's changed a couple of the pictures on his site. They don't look any different, but the files are larger. I noticed this when i went to his "about" section and the picture was a broken link. It was fixed moments later but the size of the file has increased from 136 to 603 Kb (i saved an earlier copy). this may just be a higher-res version, tho they look the same to me.

It's a strange feeling, to be genuinely concerned about taking blame for the hacking. I can say I've never really experienced such a thing before.

At any rate, the comment boxes will make it easier to follow certain goings on, so it's definitely a welcomed addition.

I've been scouring the paintings for more clues, but I'm coming up dry. One would think that the seal painting would contain something, but the only possibility I see is either in the wall lines or the boxers, and I'm not versed enough in code to spot anything that concealed.

Interesting - I have a copy as well since I was wondering if the front page image was "separating" from it's shadow in some way (very Jungian I know)... I will take a look when I get home to see if there's anything stegg'd in there...

EDIT: Actually, I just compared the images and the copies I have are the same size - both were last updated Mar 27 at 11:32. Wondering if the one you saved is prior to that?

Nope. I downloaded pickman copy.jpg a couple of days ago: 136 kb. today it's 603 kb. didn't alter the photo in any way (at least, not knowingly).

Odd, both "pickman copy.jpg"'s are both 603 kb and just in case ran a stegdetect on all the images we have so far:

2.jpg : negative
3.jpg : negative
4.jpg : negative
5.jpg : negative

newsclip.jpg : error: is not a RGB image
note1.jpg : negative
obit.jpg : error: is not a RGB image
pacmansmodel.jpg : skipped (false positive likely)
pickman copy.jpg : skipped (false positive likely)
windmillwinter copy.jpg : skipped (false positive likely)

The Photo-0005.jpg one just has additional metadata from the camera used so nothing of interest there. Was worth a shot Wink
