Naha, sammakhlouf, b/c of your post took another looksee. Does the Grace Mission House "painted medieval woodcut" represent the origin of the ring-code (||||| ||‡||)? At the unfortunate potential risk of Tom's safety, I've been trying to push him into taking more action, especially after growing more concerned about his sanity and safety. I think that him being functionally taking steps to try and figure out what's going on is probably better than him just sitting around in his windmill laying in his bed, which he's admitted to doing too much of recently.

Since history of the ownership of land is public knowledge, I figured I could encourage Tom to find out who owned the windmill before his dad and, if possible, ask them more about it. There might be the possibility that someone knows more than they're telling.

Inclined to agree with this... and it makes a weird sort of sense. We've seen hints that there might be a well underneath the windmill's foundation, which if we discovered it would pretty much confirm it. But I can't see any way we could convince Tom of that.

At the risk of stating the obvious I was looking over his dream with this mindset. If he was remembering the dream backwards, the bright flash of light would be the people above him shutting the cover to the well. The "sickening twisting pull" could be him experiencing falling to the well backwards.

We really don't have any in-game information that could convince Tom of this yet though.
P.S. I do like the way this story is shaping up.
