The absolute only thing that reminds me that this is a game when talking to her is how patient she is about it. The person typing to you is eternally happy to talk to us, inviting more test ideas.

That's the sound of someone gaping at the 40 message boxes, glances at the people piled around the screen she's at, taking a deep breath and going for it, with everyone cheering her on and stopping her when she's about to say too much.

The eternally happy and cheerful and not "GEEZ! Ok, I have to go, there's waaaaaaaay too many people here and it's freakin' me out and distracting me from going around the world in three hours!" person is eternally willing to talk to us because they're probably getting paid to not alienate the players. heh.

I guess I'll stop focusing on this now...I just keep thinking about the effort involved in pulling this off for the game. I'm impressed. That's what I've taken a couple of long messages to say. I'm truly impressed at the dedication of dealing with our questions and the planning and consistency in what has been said to us.

When all is said and done...excellent work, PMs. *thumbs up*

chainedlightning: perhaps since he can translocate, one of his functions might be to find people who are lost... do you have anyone you'd like to find? If so then perhaps he could help you out... if he succeeds it would point in that direction
chainedlightning: have you asked him if he can run a self diagnostic test? perhaps come up with a list of what he can do?
bethlmcconnell: He told me that he had run several diagnostic tests. In fact, that is one of the ways that he has determined what he has been able to do.
bethlmcconnell: The question that seems to bother him the most is his purpose. Not unlike humans in that respect.
chainedlightning: i have a couple of guesses as to his purpose- he could be there to prevent anomolies, or he could be there as the good guy to keep the monitors from doing bad things
chainedlightning: or, he could be there to show YOU something... is there any reason you can think of that you'd be singled out?
chainedlightning: perhaps he's supposed to be showing you that reality can be altered like a computer program?
chainedlightning: Is there a way to discover whether your friend is really altering reality, or only altering your perception of reality? Perhaps have him do something in front of a crowd of people?

chainedlightning: I've heard that his biological parents might be trying to find him - like they don't have enough going on right now without having to deal with that, too.

bethlmcconnell: He and I were friends after the divorce
bethlmcconnell: but I've lately had the feeling that they left together
bethlmcconnell: and I would just assume that Jesse is with them

We know that the AI man can alter her perception. If Beth wants to find out what HIS perceptions' like, she could ask him to temporarily alter her perception to be the same as his. Showing is bound to be the most effective way, right?
If he's not sure about doing it, she could say that if she could see his perception, she could contrast it with her own and more accurately describe her normal perception to him.
