More or less correct. It's a Latin formation which, while technically correct as far as I can see, was admittedly made-up. (It was of interest to me that modern 'rabies' originates from rabiēs, rage.) It's a derivation, since one of the most prominent symptoms of rabies is a pathological terror of water: the 'terror' for the Chosen is better-justified, that is all. Thence, 'beyond-rabies'.

The English pronunciation is a literal neologism. This irritates me to no end, of course: it sounds like some kind of faerie-creature invented by parents.

I'm afraid I follow too many horror series already to start on another, Nein.

Has it been mentioned already that Michelle Mason may be connected to Gregory Mason, then? Smile The coincidence of names seems uncommon.

I don't think anybody said it... Though, really doubt it has anything to do with it. xD

I JUST REALIZED THAT I WAS REALLY STUPID AT THAT MOMENT IN TIME AND THIS TOTALLY COULD BE TRUE.

Should we ask Ezekiel Fox about Gregory Mason, then?

May we, pray? (Some-one believes my opinions to be worth something after all! Smile )

Mercifully, I have no straws to grasp at concerning the other two. A few more questions did occur to me, though, so I shall ask them ad nauseam.

Why don't the Communes fight the Rebels with hoses and water-pistols, or vice-versa?
How do the Chosen cope with air humidity? Must they resort to air-conditioned rooms at the descent of ordinary mist?
Could the Chosen submerge safely with Neoprene diving-suits?
What level of purity constitutes water for the Chosen? Would paint, orange juice, hydrochloric acid, spit or blood effect similar reactions?
Are the Immune freed in any way from this superrabiēs?
What in the world makes Spongebob Squarepants better worth watching than another sadistic self-professed children's show?

Those are really fantastic questions, and I urge you to ask them during our next chat.

So, you're a sort of etymologist that comes up with his/her own terms to fit a conversation, you're extremely intelligent, and you consider Spongebob Squarepants to be a horror show? I think I really, really like you, Midtime.

You could just say something simpler next time, dear. c: Saves us the time of wondering what you're talking about, heh.

Yeah, I'm sure that all your questions can be answered in chat, though. Wilt loves questions, and I'm sure he'll be happy to see some new ones. and new blood in the mix with us. xD

You flatter me too much. Razz Superrabiēs is hardly a word that will make its way into modern culture; the sound of it is as dreadful as the concept. (I imagined a 'rabie' being a sort of land-crab or earwig that eats the tongues of children who answer back too often.)

I suppose it is a sort of bigotry, but comedic children's cartoons are generally unbearable to me. They always seem to comprise a sort of papered-over dystopian world, and characters who each suffer from at least one debilitating physical [and/or] mental condition; who all undergo unbearable amounts of torture without respite or reason; and who mutually ignore each other's agony. Nothing is begun, and nothing is ended, and now-and-then, a truly nightmarish image shows through the cracks.

Nein

My apologies. I thought that avoiding all the unnecessary jargon would be enough. I believe WiltedTrees has met me already, if he speaks in cyan. I have managed to disappoint him a little. (Good news to me.)

On-topic, I will try and attend the next chat, but since I wake and sleep in UTC+8, and do not always hear the announcements, I may well miss it. If you see fit, don't by any means wait for me to ask those that haven't been answered already. XD My first priority, after all, shall be to ask after the Malaysian Commune. (It is a trilingual country, which is to say, no-one speaks English well at all, but their Malay and Chinese are even worse; and it is always humid, and torrential rains, even in the dry season, can start in an instant. Perhaps they work at the Anti-Corruption Commission - it is the only place where Opposition Party leaders are neutralised thoroughly.)

Heh, it's cool. And you did speak to him? I guess it was when I was gone, then.

I did speak to him. I tentatively suggested that Not!Doctor avoid throwing himself into a river without a diving-suit, when* WiltedTrees said, "The new one does not know how we operate, clearly." Smile

Am I using the wrong names? I tend to agglutinate all a person's monikers together, and fail to distinguish between.

Fixed that for you.

Everyone on the internet always thinks I'm a guy...

In any case, the Chosen and the Rebels probably don't fight each other with water because of the extreme likelihood that they'd get splashed with it themselves, and both sides have the same vulnerability to it. There may be some other reason, though, so we might as well ask WiltedTree about it the next chance we get.

That's very true for a lot of them. Quite agreed. Especially those that take place in a world that paints itself to be an innocent place, seemingly perfect for a child's world, a paradise for youth.

Yeesh, that's like an 11 hour difference between you and almost all of us. Or maybe more. Time zones are ridiculously difficult to figure out.

Become a vampire or an insomniac.
Also man I'm still doubting that you're fifteen.

We asked your questions for you, Midtime, in the chat today;

Q: Why don't the Communes fight the Rebels with hoses and water-pistols, or vice-versa?
A: No sport in it.

--

Q: How do the Chosen cope with air humidity? Must they resort to air-conditioned rooms at the descent of ordinary mist?
A: It stings and most cope. Some use fans.

--

Q: Could the Chosen submerge safely with Neoprene diving-suits?
A: Yes, so long as the water doesn't touch the skin

--

Q: What level of purity constitutes water for the Chosen? Would paint, orange juice, hydrochloric acid, spit or blood effect similar reactions?
A: All of those fine. But tap, bottled, fresh and salt water are all harmful

--

Q: Are the Immune freed in any way from this superrabiēs?
A: The Immune do still suffer the water. Immunity has nothing to do with Taint, only Sickness

--

Q: What in the world makes Spongebob Squarepants better worth watching than another sadistic self-professed children's show?
A: You are a fool

Am I an idiot? I think I may be. All my sincerest apologies, Not!Doctor.

I meant that to be for the Rebels in-game. Lackaday; the mistake is mine.

You were not meant to ask him that. It was for Nein. Sad

On an unrelated note, did you attribute all of these to me?

...Why, I am an idiot! All I needed to do was leave #InnerCircle open overnight on my IRC client. I'd have a complete chat-log to look over in the morning.

Well WT didn't seem to think anything of it, so it should be alright.

Haha I'm aware I wasn't supposed to, but I was really really curious about how he'd answer!
We referred to them as "Midtime's questions" so WT probably assumed they were from you.

That's not a half bad idea, although if you do that you might want to sign in as "MidtimeAFK" or something, so we know you aren't going to be able to participate or talk.

My reputation is ruined!

Any way, if I were able to do so, would there be any-one who would like to view them? I could likely paste it into Google Docs.
