I don't think Slenderman was an escaped criminal. . .
It's just the fact that in all the myths and info on Slenderman states he's been around for centuries.
Not that MH has has has to follow every detail of Slenderman myths,
But that seems kind of like an important fact to be completely rearranged for the series. . .
Does this make sense?

I think the theory about Slenderman being the God is interesting though. . .
Maybe that is why the people were trying to stretch out their criminals.
To be more like their god?
It sounds like a way of reforming the wicked inwardly by first reforming them outwardly. . .

After listening to Alex's monologue again, I'd have to guess that Operator is either one specific criminal or some weird combination of all of them. The whole "tying them to growing trees to stretch them out" thing explains why he's so tall and thin, and the "burning the trees instead of cutting the bodies down" could explain his lack of facial features. I'm still curious as to how much Alex knows. He clearly had some kind of plan by the time he reunited with J (perhaps he wasn't hiding/trying to forget about everything in those three years after he and J parted ways, but gathering information from a safe distance). Hopefully J will find the rest of the forest visit at the beginning of one of the other tapes.

First post here. I noticed an artifact in the last ten seconds of the video and it looks like an operator symbol or something. Anyway, I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned in this thread. I would post a screen-cap but I'm not using my own computer so... yeah.

The last ten seconds of the video were footage from the previous entry. Are you referring to the Operator symbol appearing on Alex's face?

I'm slightly surprised no one's tried to connect the story Alex told to the totheark videos yet. I'm not saying that there is a connection, but there's a possibility of there being one, what with the mentions of trees and water. It could tie in there, but then again we don't know much and the story could be basically meaningless.

Also, just to note, neither Jay nor Alex seem to be sick or have "slender-sickness". Neither of them cough or anything in the part of the video that we see in this entry.


I personally liked the acting/conversation in this entry, because it's close to conversations I've had with my friends, in ways. Jay seems to be more "human" recently, I guess.

I don't think Slendy's an escaped criminal... I doubt the trees would actually grow that fast (unless it was Slendy-induced, which makes him a god-thing and not a mortal criminal). Plus it doesn't explain all the stuff he does, if you were an escaped criminal you wouldn't spend the next 300 years stalking children and teleporting film makers to hotels.

I think SM is the "god" that is mentioned in the story by Alex, what his intentions are taking J into the forest we will have to wait and see.

After #38, here's my theory on a few things in the overall story:

Alex is a "good guy", also I now believe he is TTA.

The maskies (I think there are multiple maskies) are some sort of "cult" doing Slendy's bidding.

To put it all together, I think Alex is TTA because I think he is trying to give Jay clues through the TTA videos. I think he's possibly drugging Jay in some form which is causing the blackouts and memory loss.

I think that that Alex has done this before. I think perhaps Seth, who we can assume might be dead, was in the same ship as Jay. He somehow knew about Slendy/Maskies and Alex used him to try escape/defeat/etc. this phenomena. It woud explain why Alex/TTA is being so cryptic in the TTA videos, as not to reveal hisself.

Alex has been stalked by Slendy for the majority of his life, and somehow I think he may know the way to freedom, but can't attain it himself.
