 		So, if we are to assume that this took place during the 7 months, then we'd have to assume it took place after 36, right?

Which means that Alex did call Jay.

So then, what did the "Lies" from Sidetone refer to? As, if I remember right, everyone seemed to think it meant that Alex never ended up calling Jay.

If Alex DID end up calling Jay, maybe TTA meant that Alex would tell him lies.
Eh, but there's a bunch of holes in that logic. Just a thought.

 		I don't think this is before Marble Hornets or location scouting that J doesn't remember or anything like that, if only because of the way Alex is acting. His behavior is pretty consistent with his season 2 persona: evasive, seemingly impatient with J, vaguely ominous. After all, they were friends - looking at entry 20, this isn't generally the way they acted around each other around the time of Marble Hornets filming. If this were a pre-slender stalkings J, I'd expect more of a reaction to Alex talking to him this way.

As for the "I don't know where this tape fits in with the seven months I don't remember", I feel that could easily also be a lead-in to something like, surprise! It was the day before you woke up in the hotel! Slenderman was phone!

I don't know who didn't think this was a scary entry, honestly. I was creeped out the whole time listening to Alex tell that story, and the way he tells J to "come here", his tone of voice...I dunno man, it worked for me. Made my heart pound a little.

ME TOO. That "Come here" just seemed to have a silent "so I can feed your brains to a faceless slendercritter" on the end. Shudder.

Forreals. Every since Alex turned up on the tapes again I've been getting a sense of silent anger from him, aimed at J for bringing this shit back into his life. It seems like he'd found a way to free himself of Slendy, whether by directly or indirectly passing the buck to J, and he was living as normal a life as possible until J started going all boy-detective back at home. At any rate, I think it's entirely possible Alex is looking for revenge, whether by more typical means or by looking to pass his Slender problems on to J again more permanently.

If that's true, Jay's already been there with Alex when they were location scouting. He may not know much, but he wouldn't say "nothing".

 		I do think we've probably seen this forest before - the creepy ol' tunnel from entry 29 is nearby, perhaps? J does make a point to say "And what happened to him?" at the end of the video.

Also, as long as we're on the topic of how this entry might tie in with the others, there's something I'd really like to share. Someone might have already pointed this out, so I apologize if I'm repeating anything. I'm just a little too lazy to read all 357 posts.

Now, this could be nothing, but you know how Alex is telling Jay about how people would burn the trees down? Go look at the painting in Entry #20.

EDIT: the way the camera even closes up on the painting so we can clearly see it really makes me think this might be important.

Yeah, that's been mentioned a few times. I certainly agree with it.
They really paid too much attention to it for it to be nothing. A red herring is always possible, but it just screams "foreshadowing" to me.
