In the original Slenderman Mythos, didn't his clothing style change with the times?
I like the idea that IG we just don't know how Alex's story fits in. It's just a creepy story he heard that sorta sounds like what he's been experiencing, like something from the original mythos.

Yeah, I was under the same assumption about his 'appearance'. If he's trying to mimic humans to some extent, then he would change into a business suit sometime during the twentieth century and probably wouldn't change it since it allows him some ability to blend in (relatively, at least... until he grows hair )
And we'll eventually see how the story fits in. Even if it is just a folktale and doesn't really explain the origins of the Operator, it could explain (as a for instance) why Alex acts the way he does, how he perceives the Operator. Seems like the villagers had a skewed idea of that forest... why couldn't Alex (and by extension Tim and/or totheark) be confused about the Operator's intentions? As some have pointed out, Slenderman could just have a blue/orange morality (I just spent a few hours on TVTropes... might as well use the terminology I discovered -__-'') and maybe everybody's just trying to interpret his will when, in all reality, he has none - he's just hanging around doing his thang.

Entry #38 was pretty cool and, to me, explained the Slender Man history, instead of leaving it a mystery. Well, that's what I got out of it at least.
I was surprised that this was one of their videos that had almost to no distortion in it, which I thought was cool and I would consider it a "breather" episode. Although, I suspect the way Alex was acting, he might be up to something.

Did anybody else notice that ToTheArk last logged on 6 days ago? Presumably he watched this entry... maybe we can expect a response this week?

this entry really leaves the huge question of WHAT slenderman exactly is though? is he someone who survived the punishment (got his limbs stretched and in the fire, melted his face off)? or is he still some thing with absolutely no explanation that could have just come out of a different dimension? i really hope something gets posted this week.

That's exactly what we'll probably never find out - for the better.

This entry doesn't seem to be intended to explain anything about The Operator. We'd need more information in subsequent entries to make that jump.

I hope things will be answered in the possible S2 dvd :> Not many 'answers' in this one because most would spoil S2.

He went through trial so maybe that's why he has a suit?
(Along with the theory of Slendy originating from these trees stretching him and the fire melting his face off)

Welcome to Unfiction, and your words are fine (though, it's spelled Sle nder Man, not Slander ).
However, I think you're just seeing another tree, there. Like I said earlier, they don't hide the Operator as much as they used to. If he appears, you know it.
