If you put in George Bush or Barack Obama's name into the sexual relationship database you get some really amusing results! Wink

I shouldn't have done the test. Now I have a huge migraine.

So like...anybody with epilepsy shouldnt do it...Just a warning FYI

Quote:

Fond of tradition, but attached more to the joy of human interaction, you are often a beacon of hope to those members of society who have lost faith or who are in need of succor. You are often emotional, and this emotionality is rarely held in check. Kind and helping by nature, when affronted you will explode, and just as suddenly when the pain has passed return to normalcy again. On occasion this quick and vibrant emotionality is translated into a life on the stage or screen. You have a strong sense of right and wrong, but can sometimes be left confused and uncertain in times of stress or when tough decisions must be made. You avoid conflict, tending to stay out of trouble in hopes that the group will benefit most from this behavior. Because you have trouble putting your own needs first, you will be put in much stress if you find yourself in an unequal relationship, one in which your partner is not as giving as you are.

Handy in the real world manipulation of objects and events, you are easily enthused by practical projects. You often ignore or conveniently forget rules and boundaries that limit your freedom. This need for freedom extends even to the personal sphere and though you are kind and gentle, you will often be hard to pin down to a monogamous lifestyle. Because you tend to verbalize so seldom, you can be seen as phlegmatic or impassive. In moments of high tension you can often surprise those around you with a lighthearted or humorous remark. Because of your facility with the physical world, you are often engaged in sports that require dexterity, such as motorcycling or hang gliding. You will rarely have time for flights of fancy or unproductive discussion. Constraints on your freedom will be regarded as a personal attack.

Very true, except for the part about flights of fancy. I'm ALL about flights of fancy.

This is fascinating, so far.

I did as soon as I was done with the test. No response so far.

Pretty close to accurate...

I don't think Pierley and Redford are real people - instead, I think it's a disguised play on (Nick) Medford and (Barbara) Brierley, who have both done research on depersonalisation (for example: http://www-bmu.psychiatry.cam.ac.uk/publications/medford06emo.pdf.) They're cited on the Wikipedia page for depersonalization disorder.

Interestingly I think the site might have once used the "proper" names (if you google "Medford Brierley disassociative" it's all links to the same quiz) but changed at some point; maybe people kept hassling the researchers about it. But there's no evidence that the test is a real clinical tool, or had anything to do with these people.

In any case, the results seem to be Barnum statements, but I did find the test genuinely sinister and very nicely done.

Took the test, but I feel like my "diagnosis" is very much unlike me. Although, I also feel like some of the questions I just guessed on because I felt like neither answer was accurate.

Definitely looks interesting though. Might shoot them an email.

You tend to draw and nurture others with your natural charisma. Rarely satisfied with petty details, you remain focused on the grander scheme of things. In affairs of the heart you are very practical and might be thought on occasion perfunctory or shallow. Oddly, though you have a natural tendency to lead, you have a very thin skin and can easily be hurt by a thoughtless comment or a cruel barb. There is a danger that you will take on more responsibility than you can reasonably be expected to manage. So eager are you to succeed, that on occasion you crash and burn when the reality of the situation rears its head. Often your wide circle of friends can be rather indiscriminate; care must be taken not to become entangled with those of questionable moral character. Admitting weakness isn't easy for you. When proven not to be invulnerable it can come as a great surprise. Unresolved issues can trouble you deeply.

Okay, how did they get this with me only choosing some shapes? Shocked

I don't see this as anything more than part of some guy's personal website. There are sections with his resume/CV and samples of various kinds of work he's done or can do.

Check under http://www.hypnoid.com/index2.html and select "copy" (as in samples of his copy-writing work) and then "self network", you'll find some familiar paragraphs:
http://www.hypnoid.com/copy/copy6.html

I took the other quiz, "What kind of god are you?" http://www.hypnoid.com/flash/godquiz.html

I'll just say that mine were pretty terrifyingly accurate...I'd rather not post it here. (Partly because I closed the window already. Laughing)

I emailed him as well. I am very much in with this.

I like the "W.H.O.M" as part of the Sexual Relationship database xD

I absolutely love the questions and their progression. What a mind-game!
I got the same "Handy in real world..." diagnosis.

If this isn't an ARG, I will consider it very ARG inspired web-art.

Got an email from a guy called Randy Horton:

thanks!

Link leads to a page where the origin of the test is explained, i don't know what to think of it (didn't read the blog...) .

And there is a link to the second test.

My Results:

Quote:
It is likely that this client has not met with a satisfying amount of success in life and has reached a state of near futility. This abdication of hope is often met with a corresponding desire for sensual pleasure or stimuli. Hope is blunted and the client will often have exchanged such for a life free of trouble. Appealing to this client's lost sense of self respect is often the best method of entry. Such an individual may have an underlying guilt at betraying early ideals.

This person is hoping to maneuver into a position of authority as a means of avoiding conflict, believing that this will prevent stress and allow him or her to overcome current difficulties. May be a supervisor or merely long to be one, this client will usually be creative in times of stress.

Not as accurate as the first one, except for last part (creative under stress).

EDIT: Now i read the blog posts. It's a very strange story and it somehow sound very unreal, so I'd say this could be some kind of ARG.

I'll write him a mail and ask if he would give some more information on these Austrian doctors...
